Fin lgre sucre fruit cerise.

On keg at Holyrood 9A. This said 6% on the pump clip, so slightly confused. Appearance - brown with a thin head. Nose - sour, dried fruits, HP sauce, a little winey too. Taste - more of the same. Would be great with food. Palate - light to medium bodied with a texture through the middle section which is very tight but very powerful. This continues through the finish which lasts ages. Overall - the original and the best in terms of Flemish Brown.

Tap at Shep 1/31/12. Clear brown, thinner white head. Nose is malty, hint of sour cherries and oak. Flavor is lightly tart, carbonation provides some bite but that minimizes quickly. Overall flavor is light, crisp but with great Flanders flavor.

Wunderbar.

Bottle from Calisky - thank you, Fred. The beer has got a deep brown colour with an low head and medium body. Aroma of acid and malt. Taste of mild malt, mild vinegar, bread, barley, unripe berries and woods. Light acid finish with some bread aftertaste. Not bad but I expected more.

Pours a very murky brown with a tiny off white head. Lovely sour aroma verging on vinegar. Taste is similar.

25 cL bottle at home. Pours hazy brown with a small to medium off-white head. Aroma has some dark fruits, berries, some caramel and maltiness. Taste is soft sour with some berries, lactic acid, caramel and sugar. Medium body and carbo. Ok.

The basic Liefmans beer from which their other oud bruin products are made; typical deep chestnut colour and complex aroma revealing wine vinegar, raisins, passion fruit, yoghurt-like lactic acidity, hint of wood, caramel. All in all a mild, but elegant oud bruin, necessary to understand the Cuve Brut or Goudenband, which are derived from it.
