Liefmans is a unique, refreshing blend of beers, ripened on real cherries in our cellars, blended with natural fruitjuices of strawberry, raspberry, cherry, billberry and elderberry. The result is a slightly Champenoise pearling, fruity, and agreably sweet drink, sparkling and refreshing.

Nice ruby red color with thin head. Smell of red fruit juice. Acid taste of wild cherries with watery mouth. Some sweet in the background

Bottle on the rocks. Red colour small red head. Aroma of red berries. Taste if red berries, soda (norwegian christmas soda) and lemon. Pretty much a soda-beer. Mostly soda. Like it very much. But i miss the beer-ish taste

Een heel lekker fruitbier, mooi geschonken in het kleine glas met ijs. Perfect voor te drinken tijdens warme dagen.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2014 Tasted as Liefmans Fruitesse On The Rocks, and following the brewer’s instructions, I pour it into an ice cold glass with ice cubes. I’ve had thousands of beers so far but this is a first for me. Thick but quickly collapsing, bright pink, stable head, colour a bright and fiery grenadine red, clear and transparent. Strongly sweet aroma of fruit lemonade, grenadine, red candy, grandma’s elderberry syrup, strawberry ice cream and the kind of old-fashioned medicinal candy once used to treat a cold; barley and wheat are somewhere in there, but very, very far away. I hesitate to even take a sip of this but when I do, the artificial candy-fruit sweetness is there in all its glory, like the old-fashioned grenadine diluted with mineral water I used to enjoy as a child, medicinal elderberry syrup, lots of sugar and a sourish accent more reminiscent of lemonade than wheat. The thinnish mouthfeel suffers even more from the melting ice cubes and only far away in the finish, a faint hint of hop bitterishness appears, only to disappear again as quickly as it came. I admit this is a refreshing beverage on a hot day, but the relationship with actual beer? Sure this is a good cure against a persistent cough, though. That being said, I’ve had far worse in this particular style and adding ice cubes makes it quite enjoyable if you are not looking for real beer. Perhaps I should add ice cubes to all these fruit-witbiers from now on.

Deep red color, pink head. Sweet berries nose, dominated by strawberries, artificial aromas, hint of marzipan. Sweet cherry taste, cherry pits, raspberry, slightly tart finish. Medium body, lively carbonation, sticky. Too sweet for my taste.

Nice beige foam. The smell is very sweet and fruity. Tastes very sweet. Perfect beer for a hot summer evening.

8.5 ounce bottle shared by drsilverworm. Pours a clear red with a beige head of foam. The aroma is like jello and fruits. Kind of like jello salad. The taste is nearly tart, but is fairly sweet overall. Medium body, medium carbonation.

8.5oz bottle, from Dutch’s. Shared with friends. Beautiful darker red color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good thicker lace. My god... The nose on this... It’s like the jello fruit salad that your mom used to make, topped with whipped cream. Moderate sweet taste, light tart. Lightly spicy. A little sugary and slick. Big fruit and creme flavor is amazing, though. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light slick. So fruity. It’s like red slushie. Not bad, though. Intriguing stuff.

Bottle at Bishops Arms. Smell of cherry. Pours red with a small white head 3 Taste is sweet with cherry. Palate is thin. Overall to sweet and reminds too much of a soda.

AnaRitaGato (14) - Lisboa, PORTUGAL - JUL 26, 2014
red fruits aroma only... pink to red color, medium sweetness, light body, thin feel, average carbonation... Beer or Juice?!
