UPDATED: OCT 18, 2015 Original rating from 10-12-14: 10 oz. pour, on tap at the brewery’s taproom in Stillwater, Minnesota. Consumed on 10-7-14. Pours a bright, clear copper / amber with a small to moderate amount of taupe / beige head. Produces good lacing. Looks good. Dry, fresh, piney, mineral-y, hops-dominated aroma. Good but subtle smell. Fresh, mineral-y, piney taste features a caramel flavor. Basic, biscuit / cracker malt backbone. Light to medium body. Lively in the palate. Refreshing. Decent, but there’s not much to it. Likable hops presence. Looks good and good palate effects, but it’s too subtle, and there’s not much else there. 7/4/6/3/13=>3.3. Revised rating from 10-18-15: Approximately 2 oz. pour at the 2015 Harvest Beer Festival, consumed on 10-17-15. Citric aroma. Pours a clear, dark gold. Simple, decent flavor. Overall, okay. 7/3/6/3/12=>3.1. Normally I blend ratings in a situation like this and would do a composite of 7/3/6/3/13=>3.2. In this case, however, I will stick to the rating from the original, larger pour.

A hoppier Octoberfest is basically what this is. Not bad. Interesting idea. Good enough to try once.

Pours orange with aromas of citrus and dank. Malty flavors with some citrus hop. Not bad.

This may be an APA but when I had it in a restaurant I thought it was an Double IPA. It isn’t that strong in alcohol but it has a combination of rich palate and complex hops. The aroma is brightly citrus and the flavor is more well-rounded perfumey, but there isn’t any kind of hop bitterness; it ends more sweet with a great deal of body. Really drinkable and an excellent companion to my food. (on tap at Ngon, St. Paul)
