Brewed mostly from malted wheat and toasted rolled wheat, Barnacle Wheat IPA sports a silky, medium weight palate, characteristic dry tartness and fresh wheaty flavors. New Zealand hops Rakau and Riwaka lend smooth, firm bittering and subtle tropical notes. Unfiltered for maximum wheaty goodness.

Bomber. Bright clear golden yellow, fading foamy white head. Fruity herbal aroma. Tropical fruity hop taste, light toasty wheat malts, some citrus, peppery spice, mild floral and spruce notes. Average carbonation, medium bodied, medium hopped. Dry bitter hop finish. Nice hot day White IPA, just make it a style already! NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Took some coaxing to get a decent but thin head on top, body is yellow-gold with only a modest amount of fog. Very hoppy aroma, sweetness, only a tiny hint of wheat on the nose. Flavour is strong hoppiness, sweet lemon, bitter finish. More IPA than wheat ale, but there I go rating to style again. Its likely Ill finish the bottle.

Bottle - Orange citrus, grain and mild yeast. Nice upfront bitterness, citrus, hay and a mellow sweet yeast. Not as refreshing as I would have expected but still nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Golden pour with a thick white head. Aroma is ripe summer fruits - peach, apricot, with underlying grapefruit. Smooth body with low carbonation. Flavour is the same as the nose with a noticeable wheaty body, adding a different dimension to this IPA. Good balance, lingering grapefruit, spruce and a little mint on the finish. Very easy drinking, making the 8% abv hard to notice. Very tasty.

Pours a golden body with ample white head from the wheat. Aroma of pears and pineapple. The taste is grapefruit with a side of toasted buttered biscuits. Mouthfeel is medium carbonation, creamy and sticky. The beer reminds me of La gunitas- a little sumpin' sumpin' but a little more rough around the edges. Overall a great beer. Refreshing, flavourful and a nice twist the IPA style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Nose brings out signature New Zealand hops, dry crackery and biscuity malts, and dry wheat. Flavour brings out medium pungent piney hops, cut down a little by the wheat notes, and a bit of crackery malt backing. The hops are present than the wheat - the wheat shows itself more by muting the hop flavours. Decently made. A nice thirst-quencher, but not terribly exciting or enjoyable.

Hazy light amber with medium head, nose is orange mango pine and pepper, taste has a distinct wheat characteristic but not that much, mainly esters, more like a hefe-ipa than wit or American wheat, pine and pepper in the flavour, a bit of lemon in the finish. Doesnt feel like 8%. Very good for the style.
