Bottle at CapFlu’s Blomster Bash; vintage 2012, 2 years oldBoutip (6483) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 30, 2013
Black color with brownish small head. The aroma is a bit metallic with some roastiness. Smooth mouthfeel, with light residual sweetness; nice combination of roasted malt and chocolate, caramel, quite rich; not old or oxidized.
Bottle: Poured a deep black color ale with a rather large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of light cherry with some roasted malt and light residuals sugars notes. Taste is a complex mix of roasted malt with some light cherry notes and some residual sugars with light dry fruits notes with candy ester. Body is pretty full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very interesting mix with nice balanced between all elements. Sammy (12600) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 23, 2013
A good Belgian strong. The first swallows were most interesting, the cherry and raisin most apparent. The entire bomber finishable with assistance of a long lunch. Thanks Rutager.

Jet black body thin tan skiff floating on top.....Beer gets a bit of a bonuce because it has a cool bottle. Aroma is sweet and toasty, raisin, mild coffee, possible chalky chocolate, and plum. I can see my self drinking this. Nicely balanced taste, sweet, malty, big prunes, lightly burnt brown sugar, coffee really lingers in the after taste. Feel is crisp and lively. So many flavors, so little time. gramity (1678) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 19, 2013
Aroma of belgian yeasts and dark fruit (plum, cherry). Sweet and malty, with imperial stout type flavours, balanced with belgian yeast and a smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle - Yeasty citrus, some spice, dark fruit and roasted malts. Solid black with a thick brown head. Roasted malts, light roast coffee, milk chocolate, dark fruit, sweet molasses and a little alcohol heat. Fantastic mouth feel, a definite cold day rich heavy beer. These guys keep getting better. Bottle, shared with Smitty. Very dark brown, approaching black, with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, with elements of dark fruits, roast, and coffee. The palate walks a line between sweet and roasty, with equal elements of figs, plums, and dark sugar sharing the stage with burnt malts, coffee, and licorice. There is some ill defined spiciness in here too that is very intriguing. Just so good! XaenDovet (1282) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 3, 2013
Bottle. Very deep ruby, almost black. Aroma of chocolate, raisin, wood, and alcohol heat. Taste is chocolate, coffee, plum sweet, woody. Quaffable Belgian, but lacks a bit more body. reebtogi (6341) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 27, 2013
650ml bottle pours black in color with a finger and a half of light brown head that lingers a minute or so and leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark fruits (perhaps raisins or prunes) with some yeast and chocolate and caramel. Taste is a dark fruity and chocolate malty sweetness with a spicy hop bitterness and a dry yeasty finish. Medium bodied with ample carbonation. Quite a pleasant and tasty Belgian style ale. solidfunk (9363) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - MAY 20, 2013
A light-tasting Belgian strong - no pun intended. Pours black with good initial head and lacing. Has some perfume, roast malt and booze in aroma. Finishes a little woody with some sweetness. Body is medium, a little light for style. Pretty good balance overall, but light - it doesn’t taste quite like the big beer it ought to be. Bottle.
