Appearance: As i open the can, i get a bit of gushing. Pouring it gives me a lot of mocha colored foam that briefly does a Guinness-like receding. A seriously black body that had brown tinges as i poured.
Smell: Very discreet at first but certainly opened up as it warmed. Bittersweet AND milk chocolate in there, if that’s possible. A slight aroma of smokiness, a subdued bitterness and a pleasant coarseness (without being harsh).
Taste: At first, it was shy. Some chocolate notes with oatmeal and coffee also. A bitterness that doesn’t stick around long enough. More flavor comes out though as it nears room temp. Raosted notes with more of a bitter-sweet chocolate presence. Good but somehow not great.
Mouthfeel: Honestly, the body is a little thin and watery. Nothing exaggerated but enough to notice and realize that this isn’t a full bodied stout. Lighter than expected but it is smooth and the carbonation is spot on.

Dark - opaque in fact. Thin foam. Some malt flavor. Slightly sour but not strongly so. Pleasant. northropfrye (3670) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JAN 24, 2016
On tap at barley brothers Winnipeg. Dark body off white head. Not much lacing. Lactose and roast malt aroma. Taste is slightly roasty, dry, but a bit too watery. Kind of thin. Okay. patricks110 (2548) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 28, 2015
Very easy going and roast heavy stout. Nice and dry with a roasted cocoa and light vanilla malt. Very heavy malt, rich and robust. Finish is dry. A bit too boring for me. Masterkush7 (580) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 16, 2014
Pours black with a brown head that diminishes quickly. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, slight sweetness. Body is smooth, but light, and the carbonation is slightly biting. Roasted malt flavours, espresso and vanilla. Finish is dark chocolate and roasty with a slight bitterness. I enjoyed this one.

Bottle, shared with my wife. Dark brown, tan head. Nice profile of roaste and chocolate, medium sweetness, dry finish. Good balance, nice stout. Ferris (16270) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 10, 2013
Bottle - Roasted malts, chocolate and a little anise. Jet black with a thin head. Roasted malts and light chocolate. Very mild and thin, quite refreshing for a stout. brleo (78) - - JUN 17, 2013
UPDATED: NOV 1, 2014 A decent stout from one of the more overlooked BC breweries living in the shadow of Phillips and its hoppy monopoly. Kind of like a light version of an imperial stout in flavor - smoky, bitter, molasses taste. Semi-bitter finish. Appearance has little head, deep black/brown in colour. Not bad, but a little too dark for me. If you like this, give Okanagan Springs Porter a try.
