Visual: Love the artwork, big fan of the Beatles. Pours very dark brown with minimal head, thin ringed retention with a medium island, scattered singular streams.

Nose: sweet brown sugar barley malts, cocoa (lvl-7)-pungency
Attack: very crisp bite
Mid-palate: brown sugar barley malt, (lvl-6-sweetness), airy-green grassy hops,
Finish: low hop bitterness, light toasty barley malt, residual lingering med sweetness, cocoa exhale
Summary: The initial brown sugar malty sweet attack is pleasant but once the hops kick in it becomes too resinous-airy and looses its structure. The finish has a bit of a gag reflex.
Bottle from beverage store in port albernie BC. Picked it up thought I would give it a go but was a bit hesitant considering we are way past fresh hop brewing time. The beer tastes of a brown with a bit of nutmeg and brown sugar, but not so much the sweetness. Not really any indication of hops. Just fine. bulldogops (2885) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 15, 2015
Rating #1442 - 17.01.2015 - Bottle from CBI Dark brown pour with a weak bubbly tan foam that disappears quickly. Aroma is strong roast malts, coffee, caramel, citrus. Taste is bold, earthy, with a light smokiness. Bitterness is fairly assertive. This is delicious, more CDA than a brown maybe, but flavour is on point. jonas (8561) - Garching close to the monks, GERMANY - MAR 4, 2015
Bottle, thanks Todd! Clear brown amber, low offwhite head. Light nutty and toffee, toasted malt base with fine leafy, herbal (juniper) and pinelike hop notes, light earthy finish, spicy aftertaste. Slightly aged bottle with a hint of oxidation, but still has a very nice balance and is a pleasant drink. DuffMan (10936) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 17, 2014
Bottle, shared with Parksy and JJ. Medium-dark brown, amber highlights, off white head. Quite a bready and chocolatey nose, melon and mango hops. The palate is much more malty than hoppy, lots of milk chocolate, undertones are more fruity and nutty than overtly hoppy. Nice enough, but not as hoppy as I expected.

Medium brown, has a nutty nose with lots of woody hops. Sweetish nutty brown ale character. The hops that were on the nose aren’t really show up either in bitterness or flavour, which is disappointing. Oldschool_Mike (368) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 1, 2014

Brown color, relatively clean, with medium sized head. The malt and caramel aroma is fresh and nice. The mouthfeel is dry; the caramel flavor has a cardboard accent, the bitterness is there, with some hop resins, but also light vegetable presence.
Nice malty and chocolatey aroma. Rich brown pour. Tastes pretty much the same as their regular dark ale but with some nice hop notes for added complexity.
