This hoppy IPA is 80 IBUs and 6.5% alc/vol. Citra, Zythos and Falconer’s Flight hops combine to produce citrus, stone fruit and tropical flavours. The assertive bitterness of these hops is nicely balanced by medium bodied, fresh malt characters. Switchback IPA is a Pacific Northwest style IPA.

Smells hoppy. Rates hoppy. It was an ipa that was good but didn’t stand out that much to me. Decent beer

(bottle) clear amber colour with a small white head; aromas of citrus, plums; predominantly bitter flavour with a long medium bitter finish; nice

Tessic (1206) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 6, 2013
This IPA poured a clear light yellow colour with a quick living head. Scents include pineapple, lemon and grass. First sip had medium carbonation with a good kick of hops. Flavours of citrus, spruce and grass could all be found. Finish was quite bitter with hop flavor lingering.

bunget (1023) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 1, 2013
355ml bottle. Clear pale golden body, big white fluffy head with good retention and nice lacing. Absolutely gorgeous nose: peaches, apricot jam, marmalade, candy sugar, floral hops and a light spicy finish. Taste doesn’t disappoint either: a noble and yet not excessive piney herbal hop bitterness, a good malty backbone, lightly yeasty and spicy. Light and yet flavorful. The best from the discovery pack the LCBO was selling.

Pourshazy gold with a small white top. Aroma is rather faint floral and pine hop. Taste is a bold in your face pine and floral bitterness. A little dank, a little sweet, all great.

kevinsenn (2289) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 23, 2013
Questionably fresh bottle from a questionably fresh mix-pack from the LCBO. Pours a nice clear amber with a big head. Aroma of fruit and not-so-fresh hops. Taste of malt, pine, aging hops, raisins, and booze. Still enjoyable, but I bet it would be great fresh.

TheJester (2543) - Cavan Monaghan, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 20, 2013
355 mL bottle, and the only decent beer in the BC Mix-6 pack from the LCBO this past summer. Pale gold-tan with a very small head. Lovely hop aroma is mostly citrus (lemon/grapefruit) and a touch of pine resin. The flavour adds some pineapple to the mix. Not as much bitterness as some. A poor man’s Sculpin, which makes this one pretty solid.

krumbum (1109) - truckee, California, USA - OCT 12, 2013
Clear amber color. Light hop wheat smell. Grainy fragrant hoppy bitter taste. palate fades slow but balanced.
