COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Ionizer Lager is a Pre-Prohibition style American Lager brewed at Bock strength and filtered for clarity. We use North American malted barley and corn to give this beer a medium body and slight corn sweetness. A light blend of American and German hops provides a remarkably smooth finish. Weve noticed that this beer has a loyal following of American-style beer drinkers, and although not brewed to category, the Ionizer Lager is certainly a beer with more!

Draft at the brewery. Pours clear gold with a thin fizzy white head. Tastes like sweet corn, booze, musky hops, and dry toasted malt. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet corn, booze, toasted malt, grassy.

On tap at the brewery. It poured a hazy, straw yellow color with a white head. The aroma was of grainy malts and earthy hops. The taste was grainy and malty with a dose of booze. Good stuff.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a white head. Has a fruity malty grainy corny aroma. Sweetish malty grainy corny flavor with weak hoppy hints. Has a sweetish malty grainy finish.

Bottle from South bay Drugs. Created a fat development of foaming with a straw blonde golden color upon the eye. The nose was empty with only a small mention of hay and grass. The flavor was bitter and bold of grassy malt grains and Euro styled hops. Overall impression of this lager was that the taste resembled a marzen but that was just a hunch of mine.

This has a faint aroma. Interesting, beer is a bit sticky. Has quite a malt flavor at the beginning with a bit of hops at the end. Pretty good stuff.

If you like high-quality malt liquor, youll find the Ionizer ironically iconic--if a bit on the high side price-wise. Good, strong stuff with a nice balance. Since I live just a stumble, stagger and a slide from the brewery--Im gonna go to the tasting room this Friday and get a growler of the stuff, take it home and drink it til I forget about the pain of life. Then Im a-gonna quaff some more--just for the sake of art!

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, malt, and fruit. The falvor is very sweet with strong notes of malt combined with medium notes of fruits - especially peaches, that lingers into the dry finish. Thanks Dr. Bill for sharing.
