Draft. Pours orange with thin white head. Aroma of light piney hops. Taste of bland hop flavor. Decent pale ale. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - FEB 9, 2011
Toasted crackermeal, little caramel. Light clear caramel in the glass, frothy white head. Light bodied, doughy middle, piney hops in the finish, great progression. Superb session beer. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 5, 2010
In short: A tasty, fruity and a bit dry pale ale. Nice beer.drougkolya (276) - Otterburn Park, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 28, 2010
How: Tap at Montreal Mondial de la Bière 2010
The look: Clear golden orange body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose of citrus, oranges and some pine-tree. Toasted grainy malts with basic caramel flavor. Hops character is orange peels, earthy pine-tree, oranges and a tiny bit of citrus fruits. Not a soft juicy type of APA. Like most APA/IPA with an orange peels flavor this one is a bit tart, a bit harsh and it also feels bit dry. But since it is not an intense beer its dry tartness makes it refreshing and not aggressive. Nothing spectacular about this beer but it is nonetheless something I could drink by the gallon. It was cool and unusual to have kegs from the Big Al brewpub in Montreal for the Mondial beer fest. Not that Big Al is the best brewpub that there is. But it sure is not the worst appliance store either. Certainly not.
UPDATED: OCT 27, 2010 Dégusté lors du mondial de la bière 2010 de Montréal. Bonne bière bien houblonné. riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JUL 18, 2010
Aroma is rather light with notes of pepper and floral hops, light citrus, and some toasty earthy malt notes. Pours amber with a nice frothy head. The flavor is more assertive with toasted and roasted malts, light underlying sweetness and pepper/earthy hops in the finish. Nice lingering bitter effect. Perhaps a little lighter than expected, but very sessionable and refreshing stuff. Another good one from Big Al.

bottle at Mondiale 2010. Cloudy grapefruit coloured body with a little white head, light enough to show rising carbonation bubbles. Lighter mouythfeel. Lots of little lace rings. Mild hop flavour, drinkable enough, malts right there. Not bad for this level of abv. SrSilliGose (3331) - pouring bus, New Brunswick, CANADA - MAY 29, 2010
tap. pours a clear golden amber. nice lace. bready, doughy. old and musty. earthy hops. herbal. seemed old. who knows. Bradrcr (806) - Renton, Washington, USA - MAR 30, 2009
3/30/09 at the brewery. Aroma is an even blend of citrus and light caramel. Appearance is clear yellow with a moderate maintained white head. Flavor is sweet malt blendedwith an earthy note that both maintain even through the finish. Mouthfeel is very light bodied with a medium-high carb texture. Overall, quite light, but the hop strength gives it a good balance. BuckeyeBoy (8301) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JAN 5, 2009
On Tap At Big Al Brewery West Seattle Pours out a gold topped with a small head. Aroma and tast of light hops and a little malts. The tast was of floral hops. Not bad. BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - DEC 11, 2008
Taster - Big Al Brewery - Seattle, WA – These beers on the 80 series are brewed in a one time only batch. If they succeed then they go to larger production with a few tweaks. A good strong pale ale. This is a tad more hoppy than most Pale ales would be. I say a good beginner IPA for the rookie beer drinker. Good color, and great finish.
