Draft flight 9/28/10 (Limestone)-Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a small head. Aroma of wheat. taste of banana and yeast. This light to medium bodied brew was not a bad hefe but just a little light. Lemke10 (980) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 24, 2013
I gave this a try as it was my first trip to Limestone Brewing Company.
Served to me on tap at a dinning table. Color was very cloudy and have a rich golden color to it. Not too much of a head by the time the beer got to me but there was still a nice layer of lacing on it. Coriander, wheat, and citrus zest were noticeable in it’s scent. The wheat was very raw and almost organic tasting. The texture was quite smooth and that raw/organic taste really made the wheat taste pop in your mouth. Had a decent volume to it and certainly had a very interesting taste for a Hefeweizen. I had a little bit of a hard time putting down my 22oz glass due to the heavy wheat taste. Not my favorite Hefeweizen, but I’m sure other will enjoy it very much. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUN 19, 2011
Draft flight pour on tap at the brewpub (Plainfield, IL). Finally made it down to check this place out. Pours a pale straw hue, decent haziness comes into play with a decent sized brighter white head. Dies to a film, laces small. Aromas are banana esters and touches of spicy cloves, more mellow. Wheat and bready malts pair with decent to lighter fruity esters. Simple, not as powerful as I’d like on the nose. Initial is a lighter bodied appeal, pushing some healthy banana influenced esters into the fold, touches of bubblegum, vanilla, and flaked wheat. Some spicy cloves are gentle, as this beer seems a little understated overall. Fresh wheat bread, flaked wheat, decent sweetness stays on. A lighter less powerful Hefe, I could see this being a solid Lawnmower Hefe, but overall lacks some of the freshness and vibrancy of flavors I’d prefer from a fresh Brewpub Hefe. Ok. A touch of banana bread, light vanilla. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 30, 2011
Hazy yellow, white drippy cover. Aroma is heavy clove, light lemon. Taste is clove spicing, heavy and a bit sticky for my tastes with a wheat background. ilovedarkbeer (2737) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - SEP 28, 2010
Pours a hazy greyish straw color with a creamy white head. Notes of banana clove, and skippy peanut butter. Moderate mouthfeel. Nothing unique.

[Tap] Pours a cloudy dark golden color with a small amount of white head. Aroma of wheat malts and yeast. The taste is of banana, light clove, wheat malts and lemon. Mouthfeel was a little on the light side, and the carbonation was pronounced. This beer was still pretty good, but a little ordinary at the same time. kseecs16 (1216) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - JUN 28, 2010
Pours a slightly hazy golden with a soapy white head. Aroma is slightly wheaty, rich. Fairly light wheat beer with lively carbonation and a light sweet spicy character. hombrepalo (1971) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 16, 2010
4oz pour, part of a flight 2of6. Not bad at all. Could drink this one again! Cloudy yellow with lots of fluffy head. Taste is great, light clove, banana, citrus, yeast?, malts, crisp and light. Above average, but don’t think this is a german hefe? Really reminds me of a begian wit.... lovemyipas (544) - nw burbs, Illinois, USA - MAR 15, 2010
had the first or second batch of this beer and it was descent. nice cloudy yellow color, fruity nose and flavor. very palatable beer needs some tweeking to the recipe to be greater. GranvilleTim (1855) - Granville, Illinois, USA - FEB 25, 2010
Cloudy yellow pour with a white head. Aroma was more cloves than banana. Taste was as the aroma. Left a nice clove aftertaste in my mouth. Great lacing on the glass.
