Gouverneur Blonde is a top-fermented special beer with a very characteristic, strong taste and an unparalleled fruity aftertaste. A beer that you would like to keep on flowing. Gouverneur Blonde is brewed with hop (the renowned Tettnanger hop from the South of Germany) and an extra large quantity of barley malt. Hence its golden colour, its full-bodied and malty aftertaste and an alcohol content of 6,5% by volume. Gouverneur Blonde is a beer that is brewed with love and affection. Connoisseurs know that and we have plenty of connoisseurs over here.

300 ml bottle at home, poured into my tulip glass. Two fingers of soapy white head, with very good retention after it loses hald of its initial height. Lots of bits and pieces floating around after my hard pour. Colour is deep orange golden. On the aroma yeast, some alcohol, hops and peach. Rich and full, somewhere on the back some malts too. Taste is quite sweet and malty, which in combination with the high alcohol make this beer taste like an imperial pils. Not necessarily bad, but lots of the elements on the nose are gone and only the alcohol and the malts , now much more pronounced, have remained. Thankfully, it leaves a bitter aftertaste with lots of hops. Medium body, carbonation slighty above average, just a bit dry on the palate. Now, this is not anything very special, but its an honest blond strong beer. It wont make you love it but it wont disappoint you either.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2013 Clear orange blond, fading white head. Aroma of yeast, bread, hay, herbs and orange fruit. Taste is yeast, orange fruit, malt and something artificial and some alcohol. Quite sweet but with some hop bitterness. Ok beer.

Bottle: Golden, clear but a light haze visible, small - nevertheless persistent - creamy off-white head, orangey-fruity nose, some grainy tartness in the background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied and relatively soft; a slight alcohol-burn shows up in the sweet and bitter finish. Nothing wrong with this archetypal belgian Blond...

30cl Bottle: best before Apr 2013, poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru badged tulip @ home on 7th Nov 2012. Nice looking beer: light amber body that is clear and bright, on top a full, deep foaming head which although shrinks, does try and hang around for a while. Malty nose of sweet molasses, some yeast notes too. This is a fairly sweet Blonde and she knows it: biscuity, shortbready malts with a summer orchard of fruitiness along with the blossom. I prefer this sort of beer to the sour or bitter types and this Dutch Blonde and I would get along just fine at any time of the year, any where in the world.

(bottle, 30cl) Almost clear, golden colour with a blond mid-sized foamy head. Biscuity and slightly sugary malty aroma with almost perfumed fruitiness. Sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Buscuity malty and slightly fruity taste with notes herbal hops, as well as alcohol, especially towards the sweet-bitter finish. Profane. 16.X.12

Bottle. Golden, average to large and mostly lasting head. Moderate malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish aroma, light fruitiness and spiciness (coriander), faint yeast. Body is medium, malty - lightlty wheaty and lightly sweetish flavor, light fruitiness and spiciness. Finish is average, malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish, light spiciness and hoppyness. OK fruity blond ale, not too sweet/too spicy.

Uit de fles. Goudkleurig, snelverdwijnende kraag. Aroma en smaak van sinaasappel. Behoorlijk zoet. Wel ok , niks speciaals.

Clear golden ale with an aroma of sweet fruit. Flavour of sweet unbalanced fruts, swift bitter sweet aftertaste. Not very nice.

Golden almost clear, creamy white head. Apple, yeast, Belgian feel to this. Prickly body, smooth. Sweet start, light bitter middle. Uninspiring. (33cl bottle, cheap)
