Our Lindeboom Oud Bruin (Old Brown) has its own drinkers. This sweet and very malty beer is distinctly dark. Fans drink it as dark beer, but also add it to Lindeboom Pilsener to make a ’half-and-half’ or an ’infusion’. The flavour and colour of Lindeboom Oud Bruin are the result of the traditional brewing process, where, during the brewing a very dark malt syrup is added to the brew and afterwards the beer is even sweetened a little. Lindeboom Oud Bruin is as sweet as life is here.

Zlotta (4399) - Hagen, GERMANY - NOV 20, 2017
0.3 l bottle from 'Wijnhuis Blerick', best before November 2017. Clear, very dark brown to black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty and a little fruity aroma of caramel, burnt sugar and traces of raisins. Quite sweet, malty, bready and a little fruity taste of caramel, toasted bread, burnt sugar, grains and hints of raisins, followed by a short, slightly bitter, bready finish. Thin to medium body, moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Well-drinkable, not too sweet Oud Bruin.

Flesje gedronken bij d’n Bok met Bart. Donkerbruin bier met weinig schuim. Aroma van de visafslag. Smaak is zoet en houtig. Geen nasmaak.

Pours dark brown with a big head. Smells of candy. Tastes like a sweetened dubbel with a thin watered down finish. Too sweet for me.

DwarfeD (3539) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - NOV 7, 2014
30cl bottle at home from local Plus supermarket. Dark clearish amber brown with a medium off-white head. Low to medium body with low carbonation. Very sweet with low bitterness. Brown sugar, caramel, dark fruits and honey. Way too sweet for me.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Sweet malty aroma. Taste is really sweet, like maltose lemonade. Nasty chemical aftertaste. Lacks depth. This is really bad.

jmgreenuk (10707) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - MAY 13, 2014
Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is sweet malt. The flavour is strong sweet with a super sweet dry earthy palate and a sweet finish. All about the sweetness. Not good at all!

kermis (15285) - The Hague / Amsterdam / Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 13, 2014
Bottle shared. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of raisins, overripe dark fruit and caramel. Flavour is Diabeetus, with just a little underlying bitterness in the finish. Light bodied with light carbonation.

deanso (10406) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - MAY 13, 2014
33cl bottle from Bier & Zo, Rotterdam. Thin creamy off white head. Swet. Clear brown pour. Ok.

blackisle (2986) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - NOV 10, 2013
UPDATED: NOV 11, 2013 opaque brown color, off-white head, vanishes quickly, sweet fruity syrup nose, corn, bread, caramel, light body, thin texture, sweet taste and finish. I wouldn’t call this a brown sle. Belongs to ’low’ categorie like other Dutch OudBruin’s.

kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 13, 2013
The head is medium, the body black. It smells caramel, sweet, christstollen, honey, honey cake. The taste is very sweet,, honey, brown sugar, caramel, honey cake. Medium, a bit less sugar taste would be better in my opinion. 10/9/8/9/10/9
