Lindemans Cassis is a lambic made from local barley, unmalted wheat, and wild yeast. After spontaneous fermentation the lambic is aged in oak. Black currants are added creating a secondary fermentation and yielding an ale of exceptional flavor and complexity.

Looks awesome, with a purply head Ive never seen before. High carbonation. Tart, so very tart, and complex like a fine wine. This is just superb, I can just imagine the lambic sitting there with the blackcurrants in the secondary fermentation slowly creating the flavours blessing my mouth. Id heard that Lindemans can be too sweet but I didnt find that at all in this case. A truly gourmet drink.

Appearance: clear deep ruby with one finger of fluffy pink/purple head, good retention and patchy lacing. (4/5) Aroma: intense black currant, light earth, hint of oak. (7/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, moderate-high tart, minimal bitter. (7/10) Palate: light body, lively carbonation, crisp tart finish. (4/5) Thats a lot of fun if you like black currants: the fruit completely dominates the base lambic, but tastes very authentic, with a hint of that earthy note you get from the berry skins. The tartness mediates the high sweetness so that the final product is balanced, with neither feeling excessive. Its almost as sweet as Faro, for example, but much more palatable. Czarno-czerwone, klarowne. W smaku bardzo duzo porzeczki, właściwie jest to gazowany sok porzeczkowy z lekką nutą dziką. Dobry sok na lato, szanuję.

250ml bottle Purple color with pink head. Aroma is pure Ribena blackcurrant with slight yeasty note. The initial taste is quite sweet but very drinkable with a slight oaky character and a touch of tartness. Im not a huge Lambic follower but this was a very pleasant drink. If you hate blackcurrants - avoid.

Bottle from BevMo! in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is cranberry, raspberry, blackberry, fruit syrup. Taste is berry pancake syrup but strangely not too cloying...mildly sour and mostly effervescent with nice fruit sweetness (albeit slightly artificial). A sin to some, but I enjoyed it.

Aroma is fruity cranberries and raspberries. No hops or malt. Appearance is opaque ruby red with pink head. Lacing on glass. Ok persistency. Flavor - cranberry and raspberry dominate. Some tartness in the aftertaste but far from sour. Very sweet finish. Mouthfeel - medium low body. Medium low carbonation. Slight acetic bite in the aftertaste. Some. Tartness comes thru in mouthfeel. Overall - great example of lambic. But not tart sour enough and too sweet for me ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Deep red with pink head. Very fruity aroma with notes of cassis, grapes juice and yeasts. Sweetish flavor followed by medium sourness with lots of cassis, yeasts, grapes syrup and lemon, lingering and quite acidic finish, slightly dry. Medium-bodied. Very nice.
