COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lindemans Cassis is a lambic made from local barley, unmalted wheat, and wild yeast. After spontaneous fermentation the lambic is aged in oak. Black currants are added creating a secondary fermentation and yielding an ale of exceptional flavor and complexity.

375ml bottle. Pours a deep reddish-purple, with a large crimson-tinged head, which lasts reasonably well and leaves decent lacing. The aroma is mainly sweet blackcurrant, with some sour notes lurking in the background. To be honest, it smells mainly of Ribena. The taste is, thankfully, much more pleasant. It is quite strongly sour to begin, with some faint woody notes leading into sweetly fruity blackcurrant set against a nicely sour background. The fruitiness of the blackcurrant comes through more strongly in the finish, and there is a pleasantly sour aftertaste. I find fruit lambics can be a bit hit and miss; it really depends on the fruit. Blackcurrant seems to work pretty well with the sourness of the beer itself, although it does rather dominate the aroma. All in all, however, this is a very pleasant beer.

Sweet, refreshing, cassis smell and taste. Acidic only in the finish, it is fruity. Colour is red, head too... Good beer. For dessert

Barwa ciemnorubinowa, wpadająca w ciemny granat/brunatny, zamglone, piana purpurowa, umiarkowanie obfita, nieco zdobi szkło. W aromacie czarna porzeczka, nuty kwaśne, nieco winne. W smaku półsłodkie, sporo czarnej porzeczki, nuty winne, kwaśność umiarkowana, nieco drewnianych tanin. Nieco za słodkie, bardzo dobra pijalność. Daje radę, chociaż mogłoby być nieco mniej slodyczy.

Smells like black currant compot, looks dark violet with beautiful, pink foam. Tasty, sour, fruity and juicy. Full, long-lasting sour aftertaste. The black currant is very noble.

sample at Kyiv Beer Fest, Oct 7 2017 Look: clear ruby rose, thin pink rose head. Clean blackcurrant nose with low to none brett notes, light catty notes. Light sourness, some astringency. Good.

You need to like fruit beer to love this. It’s not for everyone, but I certainly do love the sour, fruity flavors of blackcurrant/cassis, which blend perfectly with the lambic. A favorite!

Bottle. Dark and deep ruby with medium, pretty solid, pink head and good lacing. Aroma is blackcurrant, very strong at the beginning and getting some wild, barnyard notes while warming. Pretty dry, but not watery, sweet start and nice, refreshing, sour finish. Good stuff.
