Didnt met expectations, felt bit flat. Some grape, cherry stones, yeast, bit dry wood, light citrusy. Light sweetness with light tartness. Drinkable, but one time try

A beautiful fluffy white head on an cloudy apricot body. The smell reminds me how long it’s been since my last real Belgian gueuze – I’ve been drinking too many of the sour American oak bombs. Lots of old cedar wood, cork, leather. Dry and musty like an attic, not cheesy, but dusty. A slight fruitiness appears through the dust. Peaches and honey. Rather shy on the nose. Flavor is similarly restrained. Dusty green apples with a soft fluffy texture and a friendly sourness. Unlike a Drie Fonteinen or Girardin, my paragons of the style, this is a tamer, lighter, gentler gueuze, perhaps more appropriate for a social gathering, in place of bubbly wine. Enjoyable, but somewhat forgettable.

On tap at Armakeggon 2016. One of the best sours I’ve had, well balanced and supremely well crafted.

bottled Nov.2014, set still for 3 days at home before open. served around 5-6degree in Teku glass. consumed in 1 hour. appeared in yellow-orange colour with a short lasting white head, fizzy, tart, champagne like aroma, heavy yeast taste, dried fruity, slight bitter fruit. yeasty from mid to the end, long lasting yeast! refreshing, low-alcohol, ideal for sipping.

Rating #2021. Bottle from Market Street Wine Shop Uptown. Pours hazy yellow-orange with a good-sized frothy white head. Aroma is skunked grass, bitter strawberries, perhaps apple. I waiver between a 6-7 for the aroma. The skunked grass is off-putting but the fruitiness buried underneath squirts it up a notch. Taste is bitter hay, lemon, barnyard, unripe strawberry. Very tart, and I can see this being off-putting for some, but I find it fascinating.

Blueshawk (465) - Bad Bellingen, GERMANY - SEP 8, 2016

Bottle at home. Two year old bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark orange colour with a light beige head. Aroma of rowanberries, apricots, apple cider vinegar, horse and citric acid. Sour flavour of lime, apple juice, barn yard, forest floor and some dry hay. Sour but quite light taste for the style. Has a slick and crisp mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. A solid gueuze but less tasteful than expected. Well-balanced and easy-drinking.

750ml bottle. Clear copper pour. Aroma is tart apple and barnyard funk. Taste follows, great carb. This is really well done. Very drinkable.
