2011 variety. Not a big sour guy, so rating just reflects my taste. Really funky smell. Taste is obviously sour. Earthy and cardboardy. Old tasting. Nice crisp palate. Not my style.

A true classic.

6%ABV. Lambic Gueuze. Poured out deep gold. 10ºSRM Nose has aromas of pickle water, sour plums and a funky animal, sweaty, slightly barnyard aroma. Aroma of sour milk on on the back. The nose is a little thick and funky on the back without being easily definable. Mouthfeel is acidic. Palate has aggressive strong lemon juice sour, green tamarind, green plums. Fades into a sweet palate on the back end with clean pale malt sweetness suggesting taffy, sweet dough and biscuits. On first approach, there is bit of barnyard, sourmilk funk that inserts itself momentarily on the palate. Finish is clean and surprisingly light. Overall a really complex sour with a bit more barnyard heft than a Boon which always comes across as crisper and more like a champagne. This will definitely do better with more cellaring! Poured out a cloudy blonde. 8ºSRM.
Nose has an oaky, winey, slightly corky acetic aroma. You get the impression that something’s been fermenting and aging to produce goodness.
Palate is carbonated and sour. There is some yeasty earthiness to the palate which rounds off the sourness very nicely. Sour flavors are lemon juice, acetic acid,yogurt.
There is an almost indescribable dusty, woody, oaky quality to the palate that somehow elevates the whole experience.
Finish is brief and clean.

Aroma full of grapes and citrus, slight minerals a bit earthy and oaky. Only slightly funky. Tastes fresh, a bit tart with some lemon zest, slight acidity and dry leathery finish.

75cl bottle split with a friend, thank you Arie! Pours a slight hazy orange colour with a small white head, lively carbonation from the middle of the glass. Aroma of dust, funk, citrus, slight earth, hay. Taste is low sweet, soft bitter, medium sour with a moderate dry finish. Notes of funk, tart, dust, straw, citrus. Clear golden orange pour without any head. Aroma is fruity, apricot, orange, grapes along with basement yeast, barn, cider, vinegar. Good tart sour taste, hardly bitter and softly sweet. Thinnish champagne like mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Lovely!!!
