4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This years replacement for champaign for new years. Perfumed barnyard mustieness with a little horseblanket in the nose. Translucent straw color with a thin white hat. A little citric acid tartness yet creamy with touches of lemon zest, lemon grass, and perfumed hoppieness. Crisp lightly malty finish with a pleasant drying effect. An exellent gueze for all occasions, now If I could only find it regularly.
Pours clear higly carbonated golden with low white head. Aromas tart and funky of autumn leaves, earth, over ripe red apples. Taste has quite tart notes of over ripe apples, pears, basement, earth, hints of citrusy fruityness. Mouthfeel is very tart, highly carbonated, dry andalmost no bitterness. Funky tart ending. luttonm (7150) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 11, 2018
Bottle in Seattle. Soft cream head, slightly clouded orange, effervescent bubbles. Doesn’t look too dissimilar to an ipa besides the lingering foam. Dry funk on nose, lending to a somewhat sweet sip before creamy funk takes over. Lots of lime and citrus acidic bite. Lingering creamy feel in the mouth. Not the most complex or deep geuze, but certainly enjoyable and delicious. Sweetness overpowers the finish and the lingering flavor. Grumbo (4737) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2018
2017 bottle shared at Lowlander, Covent Garden. Pours slightly hazy pale amber with a fluffy white head. Aroma of medium sour, yeast, citrus and wine. Moderate sweetness and medium plus sour. Quite light body, slight watery texture, soft carbonation. Very good. martpez (413) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - MAR 5, 2018
Very smooth Gueuze light on sharp tartness just very refreshing. Lemon rind and biscute notes. Balanced with some complexity but much less then most examples of the style. Refreshing grown up drink. Easy going. cilvekspagaisu (91) - - MAR 3, 2018

Leicht trübes Goldgelb mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Fruchtig, reichlich Äpfel, etwas Zitrus, Stachelbeere, mäßig säuerlich, sehr spritzig. maurog (19) - ITALY - FEB 17, 2018
UPDATED: FEB 17, 2018 Perfect style, mild carbonation, fruit and champagne flavor, small head when poured from bottle. Complex but very enjoyable. bigdickmoney (7) - vallensbæk strand, DENMARK - FEB 14, 2018 does not count
A true classic.
Sour, slight funk. Very effervescent. A great way to get into sour beer. drjoeng (1484) - SINGAPORE - JAN 21, 2018
6%ABV. Lambic Gueuze. Poured out deep gold. 10ºSRM Nose has aromas of pickle water, sour plums and a funky animal, sweaty, slightly barnyard aroma. Aroma of sour milk on on the back. The nose is a little thick and funky on the back without being easily definable. Mouthfeel is acidic. Palate has aggressive strong lemon juice sour, green tamarind, green plums. Fades into a sweet palate on the back end with clean pale malt sweetness suggesting taffy, sweet dough and biscuits. On first approach, there is bit of barnyard, sourmilk funk that inserts itself momentarily on the palate. Finish is clean and surprisingly light. Overall a really complex sour with a bit more barnyard heft than a Boon which always comes across as crisper and more like a champagne. This will definitely do better with more cellaring! An outstanding base to start cellaring from!MartyW (448) - DENMARK - JAN 19, 2018

Poured out a cloudy blonde. 8ºSRM.
Nose has an oaky, winey, slightly corky acetic aroma. You get the impression that something’s been fermenting and aging to produce goodness.
Palate is carbonated and sour. There is some yeasty earthiness to the palate which rounds off the sourness very nicely. Sour flavors are lemon juice, acetic acid, yogurt.
There is an almost indescribable dusty, woody, oaky quality to the palate that somehow elevates the whole experience.
Finish is brief and clean.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2018 37,5cl bottle. Clear light amber with a quickly fading white head. Some funk, lots of crisp green apples, some oak, minerals, underripe peach skin. Good, but lacks complexity to make it great.
