Unblended lambic, max. 1 year old.

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "Lindemans Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "Lindemans Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

Draft sample during rbsg. The beer is a clear yellow with a white head of foam. Fruity and green apple aroma. Dry and vinegary. Lighter body and medium carbonation. Pretty interesting beer.

Draught, Elizabeth Station. Pale and cloudy. Not much head of course, leathery, woody nose. Soft, has a nice juicy, leathery character. Refreshing. Really well balanced.

Pour at the RBSG17 opening meet and greet, sample thanks to brokensail. Pours a fairly clear gold with a medium sized white head. Big dirty funk, wood, musk, a bit of sweetness. Medium bodied, mineral tones, lean and funky, odd mineral notes. Long acid and funk, that mineral note carries through the finish.

On tap at Bitter Creek during RBSG Meet and Greet. Pours an orange gold with no head. The aroma is strong funk, rubber, apple skin. Medium body, strong funk, oak, nice tartness, enjoyed this.

Tried @ Van Moll Brewpub. Clear yellow golden color, no head. Smell and taste hayish moderate orangepeel sour bitter. Hard to describe but it tastes awesome. Balanced tart sour bitter without being sour actually. As I said, hard to describe.
