Our traditional Kriek Cuvée René Grand Cru is brewed with wild yeast from the surrounding air, water, malted barley, wheat, aged flower hop flowers and selected wild cherries. Deep cherry red clear body, tart taste with a moderate sourness and an authentic cherry skin presence. No added sugar.

Note: ABV known to be in the 5%-7% range, seemingly depending on the batch.

Bottle from ’06, courtesy Nate. Pours mildly fizzy red, dissipating nose of horse band aid, cherry, vinegar, lemon. Tastes of sour lemon, cherry, super tart with some reasonably funky notes. My tongue hurts.

Capa (3251) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - JUN 16, 2017
Deep ruby. Berries, farmhouse must, tart fruits, dry sweetness. Medium bodied. Finish is dry tart fruit that sticks. Good stuff.

czlowiekmotyka (259) - Warsaw, POLAND - JUN 14, 2017
It a very promising looking beer. Nice dark red color (or ruby I am not color sensitive but it looks nice). Smells more fruity than stableish. Really sour and red initially but very quickly the taste disappears. Lacks some balance and finish.

martjoobolut (4229) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 13, 2017
Small bottle, vintage 2016 (from etre gourmet). Pours dark red with pink-red head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is sour, cherries, some sweetness and jammy notes. Flavor is sour, sweet, cherries, acidic. Finish is sour cherries and acidic. Overall: ok, but i like my lambics less acidic and with more brett/funk.

Kauge (1928) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 12, 2017
Had this from bottle without taking notes. 2013, 6.5%. Was lovely, a bit too sweet for my taste though (the kind of throat-scraping powdered sugariness). Probably among the nicest Krieks I’ve had.

Bottle - wow - the Kriek by which all others should be measured - fantastic - cherries on steroids - superb sour - more more more.

Borup (14303) - Albertslund, DENMARK - JUN 2, 2017
75 cl. bottle. A ruby coloured beer with a pink head. Aroma and flavour of cherries, citrus, sweetness, tartness and acidic.

geolgau (204) - Cluj-Napoca, ROMANIA - JUN 2, 2017
Pours nice dark red, no head. Aroma is sour cherries, green apples, apple vinegar. Medium body, medium carbonation. Taste is sour, with green apples, dark cherries, funky tart. Refreshing and enjoyable.

Mr_Pink_152 (4879) - Lincoln, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2017
Bottle from Flying Circus, Newark. Deep rose colour with a thin white head. The cherry really evident in the aroma. Taste light sweet with sour cherry. Medium body.

Cristobal37 (1119) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAY 24, 2017
2016 vintage. Deep dark ruby red with pinkish head. Dank lambic, vinegar, not really getting the cherries, basically the same as the original cuvee rene. Really tart bordering on sour bomb, lemon rind, vinegar, that classic lambic taste, with the faintest hint of cherry. Actually I taste the cherry on my lips more than anything. It’s the fantastic cuvee rene with a subtle twist which really enhances the beer. Probably the best thing Lindemans makes.

Bottle at the brewery during Toer de Gueze 2017. Hazy deep red color. Pleasant aroma full of cherries and touch of funk. Sour cherries, red wine, vinegar, lemon. Light-bodied, fizzy and refreshing. Great.
