I love this. It’s a little too tart for me though, but that’s what it’s supposed to be.

Lindemans makes some of the most affordable and accessible Lambics out there, but I forget that they sometimes brew things that are downright lovely. Cuvee Rene is one of the lovely ones. Deep red hazy pour. Nose reveals a gorgeous balance between tart cherry and earthy funk. Same goes for the taste, and you get subtler touches of raspberry and horse. Fizzy, acidic body. Not too sweet, not too sour. Fantastic.

Bottle. Dark rose in colour with spritzy carbonation. Aromas are of sweet cherry, mild barnyard, earth, and florals. More sweet cherry on the palate along with dried out wood, and some mild funk. Perhaps a hint of vanilla in there too. Light bodied with a moderate amount of acidity and sourness. Not as bombastic as a 3F or Cantillon beer, but definitely the real deal.

Bottle/Fest. A- Cherry. A- Red color, clear liquid, pink head. T- Barnyard, funky, cherry, slightly tart. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, tart finish. O- Really nice and I’m not sure why it took me so long to try this. The aroma was mostly cherry but the palate introduced a touch of funkiness. Well balanced and certainly one I could drink quite often.

Bottle, ruby red beer, huge pink fizzy head disappears. Aroma is kombucha, cherry, hint of goat. Taste is sour cherry, kombucha, with a touch of black pepper at the end. Palate is light, carbonation much more moderate than the fizzy head would imply. I’ve always thought this would be sweet syrup, I don’t know why. It’s quite sour, but not vineagar sour. Pair with late night existential writing assignments and a crackling fire.

Shit. This motherfucker exploded all over the kitchen trying to remove the cork. The glass bottle broke. Strained 1oz for the rake. Aroma of raspberries and oak. Nice funk. Taste is tart and dry. Good body. Great fruit. Really would like to chug a 750 of this in under 10 seconds.

Corked Bottle. Poured a hazy red color with an average frothy reddish head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate tart cherry, yeast and floral aroma. Medium body with a dry texture and lively carbonation. Medium tart & sour flavor with a medium sour &n tart finish of moderate duration. This beer met my expectations.

Muahahahaha the best part of being a beer tough guy is trashing Lindemans. This is cheap for the style, just about $15 + surrendering of your man card. Deep garnet hues (just lost some tough guy points with those three words) with a fizzy pink head. Aroma is cherry, barnyard funk, sweat socks. Flavor is nice, funky, medium tart with loads of cherry, very mild acetic notes. Medium-bodied with effervescent carbonation. Actually pretty good! Lindemans Framboise this is not.

Aroma sour, cherries. Taste sour, cherries not dominating, a slight hint of sweetness. Lacks the complex taste of the old geuze and the taste of cherries is underwhelming.
