COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Roasty, slightly sweet, light bodied black beer, 5.5% ABV and 19 IBUs. For sometime, this has been our ’dark horse’ beer. Many people have had a chance to try our earlier versions of this beer, but our current batch is one of the best. This beer is making its official debut at the Eat Real Festival in Oakland and will then be on tap wherever Linden St. beers are to be found.

Now Oakland United. Decent dry black lager with nuts and patent malt, tobacco and roast. Dry finish.

On tap. A still, mild looking black. No real head and light carb. Smell is barely coffee, barely caramel, mostly watery and some lager presence. Taste is a dirty tasting lager, not really like anything....? It was meh

Tap. Pours clear black, small beige head, some lacing. Aroma of dark roasted malt, coffee, ashtray. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, roasty, hint of smoke. Lightish body. A bad example of the style.

Draft. Darkest brown color with a small light tan head. Aroma is roasty, damp leaves, grains, cold coffee. Nice flavor, grainy and mildly roasty, very dry and slightly bitter. Good if humble example of the style.

Tap with oysters in SF. Probably the setting but this was pretty enjoyable as an experience. Black lager gives you a lot of what you need to know. Light body but a decent bittersweet flavor. Good presence. Light toast with a crisp dry finish.

Dark black. Sweet. Lots of butter at the end. Drinkable. Thx for the growler joey.

This poured a dark brown with an off white head. Aroma was of light toasted malt, light grassy hops. Flavor was similar, really clean, mild smoke character too.

A nice sessionable brew, if you’re looking to drink in volume. Almost black with thin persistent white head. Roasty, smoky notes on the nose. Smooth malt sweetness with a roasted malt kick to prevent cloying. Some caramel. Pretty good for the style, but a bit thin.

I really enjoyed this beer. Roasty and not very bitter. Nice and lower abv too.

Oaktoberfest 2014. Black with a thick head and nice lace. Coffee and roast nut aromas, with a hint of chocolate. Rich, bitter taste. Absolutely delicious.
