Clear no color color... like water, no head. Aroma is odd. Flavor is sweet and marzipan with some sour bitterness.

175ml glass from St Peter’s Ale House, Bedford. Light yellow, the colour of white wine. Flat. Slightly sour spicy smell. Hint of potpourri. Full sweet taste; it has a nice boozy kick. Thick mouthfeel. Sour orange peel, nutmeg and honey aftertaste. Grows on me. Quite nice.

Bottle kindly donated by my daughter, who brought this from Holy Island. Clear very pale golden color, no head. Light aroma of honey, vine. Sweet honey taste with grape. hints of vanilla, sharp alcohol. Unusual but enjoyable.

350ml bottle given as a gift from the island - Amber body, no head. I think it is supposed to be like this. Nose is a strong mix of grape juice and honey, with a large hit of alcohol. Taste is syrupy, like a sweet wine, with a warm finish. First time I’ve had mead, and probably my last. A very average drink that no doubt has its fan-base.

Patrickctenchi (6664) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - JUL 10, 2014
Bottle: Clear, still...almost colorless...just slightly yellowed. Alcohol and light honey and lemon aroma....comes across a little nail-polishy. Taste is sweet with a slight alcohol warmth.... Mild honey, ginger flavor. Surprisingly gentle considering the ABV and the initial whiff of alcohol. Mild, very good.

danlo (3133) - Darlington, Durham, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2013

Pale blond color. The aroma is a bit plastic. Sweet, without excess; some honey flavor. Drinkable, but simple.
