Tap at the brewpub. Medium deep brass body with a thin white head. Massive grapefruit and herbal nose. Hints of dough. The taste is grapefruit rinds and grass. Fall leaves and bread crust round out the slightly nutty finish. The body is dry and light. The highly carbonated body keeps this one lively in the tongue. Good stuff. Sampler at Bricks. Hazy pale pour with small head, decent retention. Aroma: lemon cleaner; floral; husky grains, caramel and toast. Somewhat fruity. Moderately sweet, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture. Overall: middle of the road uninspiring IPA. DuchessOfIowa (161) - Iowa, USA - JUL 31, 2016
Newbie on tap here recently in Des Moines. Nice orange/yellow hue that has some nice richness. Very aromatic with a nice punch. IPAs with flavors and aromas this aggressive always win me over as long as the malt hold its own. We were very excited to finally get this brewery on over this direction. Everything I’ve had has been executed really well. CanIHave4Beers (4273) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - MAR 5, 2016
From an old fashioned growler. GJF (1520) - Mount Vernon, Iowa, USA - JAN 29, 2016
Pours a lightly hazy golden door with a nice sized fluffy white head that leaves a nice lacing on the glass.
The aroma is citrusy most specifically orange like with some melon and a light herbal bit. Mostly brightly hoppy, pretty great.
The flavor is really pretty balanced, it’s awfully dry but it’s got a crisp maltiness to it for sure. It’s got a lot of fruity hops with a good citrus rind on melon thing happening, but it’s also got a significant enough bitterness to it.
Maybe not exactly what I was expecting, but awfully good.
Small growler Jesse had at the Lincoln Wine Bar. Clear yellow pour. Very clean. Pine and some citrus. Crisp and refreshing beer.
