Pours yellow golden, medium big lacing head. Aroma grass, floral hops, hay, sweet malts. Palate is soft, mouthful. Carbonation is medium soft and lively. Taste is sweet, grassy, watery. Finish is sweet and dry with some hops notes. Drinkable but pretty simple a beer.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Sweet, fruity and candy-like smell, also artificial. Sweet and also bland taste. Almost no bitterness at all. Low carbonation.

My feelings about this beer are related to the fact that Ive now spent several years in Southern Asia, where the available beers range generally from barely tolerable to dreadful. I know that Lion Lager, compared to the finer international examples of this style, is nothing very special, and yet in this region of the world, it stands above the rest as something both palatable and desirable. Additionally, Lion Brewery puts out the truly world class Lion Stout, again influencing my judgement of their lesser product. This is a fine enough, European style lager, drinkable and refreshing in a hot climate. Its an adjunct brew, not anything to seek out, but easy drinking

330ml bottle BB Dec 2017 from Elephant Corridor, Melbourne. Pale straw color with good head. Grainy aroma with some oxidation which surprised me given the BB. Mild bitterness with thin palate/body. Ho hum.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2017 Bottle. Clear golden colour with a medium white head, nose is grassy and grainy with some musty, cardboardish notes, taste is plain sweetish malty with a strange spicy, phenolic pinch and a medium dry finish, carbonation is quite high.

325ml bottle from a friend, ABV 4.8%. Clear golden, a few bubbles in the glass. Medium size white head, some lacing. Sweet grainy and malty aroma, bread and grass. Light bodied, medium carbonation, watery mouthfeel. Grainy taste, metallic notes and bread dough. Lacks bitterness.

Grain and cereal malts, light bread, molasses, light metallic. Clear gold, medium frothy, white head. Light sweet. More grain and bread malts, medium caramel, lively carbonation, medium bodied, sweet, molasses and caramel in the finish. Actually not a bad Lager (for the Sri Lankan heat). Sri Lankan brewed bottle (ie not one of these awful cans from Laos) at Grand Indian, Nuwara Elyia.

A kind of weird, muddy taste thats different to figure out. Some hops, wood and hay, medium bitterness. Overall a very confusing beer, which is not awful, but not really good either.

Bottle. Clear pale golden colour. Sweetish aroma of malt and rice. Taste is sweet, some caramel and honey and hop notes. A bit too sweet for my lager taste. Light body, medium carbonation. Not bad but not exactly worth a trip to Sri Lanka for the beer alone either.
