4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
I’m giving this beer the second highest overall mark I can give as it’s mu second favourite mass-produced beer in all of New Zealand.
Best drunk from a crate, cap taken off with a fish slice and with your mates sitting around, one has to have a guitar.
You’ll be back!
Lager refrescante mas com sabor encorpado, bem lupulada. Cor dourada e espuma branca. mkel07 (5995) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - AUG 10, 2014
Can from The Beer Cellar April 2013. A much better offering from these guys than what I have previously had. At least with this there is a little bit of flavour and substance. Sten (752) - Westerlo, BELGIUM - JUN 3, 2014
Amber coloured beer with a small white head. Aroma is sweet and grainy. Flavour is grainy and quite watery. (Bottle 33cl) Headbanger (3999) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - APR 22, 2014
Bottle (Old Notes)-Pours a lighter amber with a small head. Aroma of malt and sweetness. Taste of the same with some bitterness. This light bodied brew is just a basic amber. KeefOz (1842) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - FEB 18, 2014
Tasted 4/2/2014. BB 06/03/14. Poured a clear pale amber with 5mm of white foam that diminished quickly to a collar and laced poorly. Carbonation low with small bubbles. Aroma subtle sweet malt and not much else. Taste of sweet malt fading to a very slight hops bitterness. Light body. Bland finish. Ordinary.

A simple malty red lager that loosely resembles Czech polotmavy without the savory, round body. Honey, toasted corn kernels, burnt barley malt / cigarette ash, light touches of DMS / cauliflower and a growing off-note of copper pennies. Mild sweetness, low bitterness, low acidity, medium-light body with a watery finish, faint roughness of carbonation and a touch of malt husks. cagou007 (1171) - FRANCE - NOV 20, 2013
Pours a pale amber color with a thin white head. Aromas are malts, citrus, nuts... maybe a hint of caramel ? A short hoppy finish. Actually, I don"t think it’s a great beer as such, but it was the first one I really drank with friends at 15, while spending a month in Withianga, New Zeland. Amazing souvenirs... the first beer of a long long series and the begining of a love story with that magnificent beverage ! kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 29, 2013
The head is ok, the body orange-brown. It smells malty, intensive, bit flowery. The taste is malty, stale, bit bitter. 8/6/6/6/-/6 DylansDad (642) - North Shore, Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 11, 2013
Poured from a can. Aroma almost non-existent, which is probably for the better because all I detected was the smell of a swimming pool changing room, after hours.
Appearance: nice colour, clarity etc, but the head soon degenerates into dishwater. When I was young I used to enjoy hoovering up the suds, but now it’s a bit off-putting.
Taste: It’s all at the front. Malt sweetness, with the faintest hint of bitterness. Then it’s all over as soon as it began with no middle or finish.
Not a beer to enjoy for the taste, but easy to drink enough to get your buzz.
BTW, the taste changes from ok to disgusting pretty quickly, so you are forced to drink fast. madquacker (1143) - Canberra ACT, AUSTRALIA - FEB 8, 2013
Dark orange colour with a small head. Harsh and confronting after the elegance of NZ’s craft brews. Strong flavour of water.
