33 cL bottle, courtesy of fonefan. Pours clear and golden hazzlenut brown with a small off-white head. Roasted breadish malt aroma. Roasted an ddry malt flavoured, breadish. Light bitterness into a rather dry finish. Kristall-König (2820) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - AUG 9, 2011
Geruch süßlich-malzig, Kaffee. Etwas flüchtiger Antrunk, dann schnell malziger werdend und hopfenaromatisch untermalt. Malziger Ausklang.
Gut solide. Test vom 14.4.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Ibrew2or3 (8743) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - NOV 2, 2011
33cl bottle pours a deep clear copper with gold edges and off white head. The aroma is full with Christmas fruit cake, black licorice and honey laced dark roasted coffee. The taste has the honey or molasses sweetened dark roasted coffee mingling with some spicy black licorice and dark roasted malts. To midway a fairly assertive spicy hop component joins in and helps take this to the finish. Zlotta (3501) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - OCT 21, 2016
0.5 l bottle from ’Biermuda’, best before January 2017. Clear, dark red to brown with a medium large, foamy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly grassy and a bit roasty aroma of caramel, nuts, some straw and bread. Sweetish, malty, slightly grassy and a bit roasty taste of caramel, nuts, bread and some straw, followed by a short, slightly roasty, moderately grassy finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Nice! MoritzF (10018) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - MAR 24, 2006
(on tap at the brewpub) Slightly hazy hazelnut-brown colour with a short but stable and slightly off-white creamy head (that reminds me of a nitro beer). Slightly fruity (dried fruits) dark malty toasty aroma. Medium sweettoastmalty taste with caramel and a fruity tinge; toasty and slightly bitter, light hoppy finish with a fruity and slightly tart aftertaste. Slim but well-made Dunkel.

Bottled 0,33 ltr "Thomhansen Export Dunkel" (BZ, BB 04/2011)Mariusz (12066) - Baden-Baden, GERMANY - JAN 11, 2015
Dark chestnut brown color, steady small beige head, some lace. Sticky coffeeish aroma, roasted coffee beans. Soft palate. Coffeish and milky flavor with some toffee and peanut butter. Harsh, coffeish-bitter finish. Lingering dark chocolate in the aftertaste. Very unconventional German dunkel.
Many thanks for this bottle to Erzengel. Clear medium brown amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty. hauxe (859) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - JUL 9, 2016
Pours chestnut in color from the bottle. A creamy head forms which subsides but lingers as whispy lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and dark chocolate. Taste is bitter dark chocolate up front and transitions directly into a strong sourness that carries into and dominates the swill. Despite the occassional floral note the hops do not quite persuade. The necessary bitterness is there but makes a stale almost acrid impression. Despite a promising start this one fails to develop beyond average.
