COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The front runner of all four flagship beers, this amber colored American Ale is a full bodied ale which has gone through more than 20 various recipe alterations before we felt satisfied enough to slap our name on it. The American Hero Ale, which embraces all things American, features great head retention and full flavor with just the right amount of Cascade and Centennial hops. The great color and smooth flavor of this beer makes a great addition to the fridge all year ‘round.

12 oz. can. Pours a reddish-gold color with an off-white head that’s about a half-inch thick settling to a film leaving nice lacing. Aroma is sticky sweet with some pine hops. Mouthfeel is thin, malt is the leader with the hops in the background. Sweet finish. Ok.

Can. Pours a dark brownish-amber with an off-white head that leaves a lot of lacing. Sweet-sharp aroma, of roasted malt, sugar, grass, yeast. Taste is fairly complex, sweet from sugar and caramel malts, bitter hops, sharp yeasty grass, hint of burnt. Lingering sweet toastedness. I wasn’t expecting much but it’s really not bad.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a sly transparent amber color with some carbonation seen rising to fill a finger’s worth of white foamy head. Soft film of white foamy head congregates around the glass. The lace is the same. The aroma has a soft malty sweet blend of biscuits, white bread, caramel, toffee and grassy hops. Some fruitcake comes in as it warms. The flavor was sticky malty sweet with the biscuits seemingly tasting like they’re honey coated. Some nuttiness comes out. Hops seem barely there. Crisp nutty caramel/toffee/toasty/fruitcake aftertaste. Sticky malty finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt fine. Overall, good as a red ale worthy of having again for the style.

Can. Hazy chocolate brown pour. Sweet malt, toasted hop flavor. Aromatic notes similar as well. Smooth and balanced. A good beer all around.

Can to shaker glass. Pours clear deep amber, two finger quick head. some lacing, little retention. Aroma is light citrusy, some caramel. Taste is mainly sweet malts with just enough hops to hold it together. Medium bodied, average carbonation, mouth feel is a little thin. Finishes dry. Tasting notes of toffee, caramel, plum, grass. Interesting. It’s OK.

Can’t believe I haven’t rated this before. A solid amber ale with a nice mixture of caramel sweetness and hop bite. A go to of mine.
