hazed sweet tea appearance with a fluffy white head. citrusy bubblegum nose with a lemon slurpee quality. taste- first is rotting corn vegetable like flavors, then- a rough alcoholic taste. what yeast or spice gives this horrid first taste & lingering rotten wood flavor? is this relabeled karma? i have to think if it isn’t it is a very similar recipe,, because karma is the only other beer avery makes that i hate and this is very similar in flavors. same lettuce and seedless grape taste that really does not sit well with me. 4 6 3 1 6

This is a belgian pale with orange peel and Crystal hops. It looks really nice in the glass, perfectly clear orange color. It smells really hoppy to me. The flavor is also hoppy but this beer upsets my stomach like most belgians from Avery, I wonder if its the yeast? Their IPA’s never give me any problems. Bottle-dark honey brown with a thick film of bubbles. Nose-sweet, pink grapefruit, PNW hops. Taste-cherry syrup, strawberry juice, medium bitter, candy sugar sweetness, black cherries, bubblegum, Juicy Fruit gum from the yeast, crisp hops. Maybe the best use of hops ever. Very nice.

BIg thanks to Mjames for tossing a bottle of this my way. Clear amber with a light tan head. Big citrusy, caramelly fruity aroma. Medium body and smooth. Lightly sweet pale malt base with citrusy orange and earthy spicy yeast. One of Averys better attempts at a Belgian style.

22oz. bottle, obtained from the celebrated Liquor Mart itself. Softly fruity and sweet aroma, with notes of lemon frosting, faint spices and leafy hop. Hazy medium amber color with a persistent, fluffy, off-white head and thick sheets of lacing. Flavor is gently malty and bitter, with slight touches of citrus, pear and peppery spice, remaining largely dry throughout. Highly effervescent yet silky smooth palate, body is light-medium. Very drinkable, all in all.

Clear and light amber with a nice head on top. Crisp on the tongue. Toasted bread, light toffee, nuts and grains in the malts. Hops were bitter and spicy, with snappy notes of orange, lemon, flowers and grass. Some bitterness lingers on the tongue, along with some nips of alcohol. Fairly easy to drink, though it does have a bold edge to it.

(22oz. bottle) Pours a lightly hazy orange body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of pink grapefruit, bubblegum, and caramel. Flavor of hops (citrus, floral, light pine), yeast, and some spices.

Sample from November 21, 2008 beer club meeting. Great head on this sucker! Color almost looks like an IPA. Metallic flavor. Light, honeyish with a cool and bright mouthfeel.

Bottle at Avery Taproom. Clear amber - white head. Soapy, roasted, knækbrød, swedish flatbread, grassy, spicy, sweetness, nice fruity, orange/ citrus peel, nice hoppy.... Belgian Pale Ale !?!
