Bottle. Hazy pale yellow color. Aroma of softly sour summer fruit, very nice. Taste is sour white wine, vanilla, peach. Good stuff.

22 oz bottle at the DC Local Tasting. Clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, rum, gin. Tastes of gin, rum, hot booze, light tart fruit. Medium body with a dry and warm finish.

22oz bottle pours a clear gold with some creamy, bubbly white head. Nose has a lot of nail polish, some gin, a little juniper, allspice, some vanilla, some candy sugar, clove. Every time you smell it, you get a little something new. Flavor has booze, citrus, a lot of lemon-lime soda, some fish pepper, herbs, juniper, allspice, orange juice, mildly vegetal, a little soap, some tropical fruit. Oily finish. Odd, but really interesting.

Gin beats the rum. Barrel beats the beer. Some floral yeast. Citrus. Barrel doesn’t completely dominate here - there is some sense of underlying beer here. Gets better after a few sips though. Light sour, tart finish with light sweetness. Actually works ok. Bottle shared by Nimbleprop.

Ginger and lime nose. Hazy golden, thin head. Juniper and lime flavor. Light and spritzy mouthfee. Ok, this is not at all what I was expecting. Not much in the way of gin, and even less of rum. The name is very misleading. On the other hand, this was a delightfully tasty and unique beer.

radagast83 (8515) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - AUG 16, 2014
22oz bottle poured a hazy white head. Aroma was almost mint, some boozy notes, gin, juniper, rum. Flavor was rum, some juniper notes.

Caterwaul (83) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 5, 2014
pours a hazy peach-flesh color with a frothy white head. smells creamy and sweet like lemon bars, with a touch of bracing pine, too. taste is banana, pineapple, coconut, and sweet, creamy citrus. pleasantly tart and fruity. pine butts in a little more than I might like, but overall this beer is damned impressive! I think if it was just rum barrels and not gin/rum barrels, I think this might be a bit better, but I’m not even so sure about that. Tasty, thought-provoking beer.

Bottle thanks to b3shine. Golden amber pour, with a foamy white head. Yeasty beer, juniper, oak, gin, a bit sour, vanilla, white vinegar, light crackery malt, light fruitiness, and a hint of rum barrel (not much). I’m not sure if this beer was meant to be soured, but it is now.

Tmoney99 (15034) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 2, 2013
Draft. Poured clear amber color with an average to large frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Medium to heavy sweet floral and herbal, yeast, vanilla wood aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and lively carbonation. Medium to heavy spice sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer.
