Since the giant wooden doors opened for the first time at Little Creatures Brewery’s Fremantle base, the popular pilsner has been on the bar alongside the nationally released Pale Ale and Rogers’ Beer. We like the idea of lager styles being crisp, clean and elegant as opposed to overly "meaty", malty or sharp. This is a refreshing pilsner based on the classically structured European examples that use the finest Saaz hops and a patient fermentation regime.

On tap at pub in Batehaven, NSW. Pours a thin yellow gold with a white head. Aroma: sweet malt, grass, honey, mild citrus and earthy flavours. Taste: sweet malt, honey and mild citrus flavours dominate. Mild earthyiness. Thin bodied. Moderate carbonation. This is a well balanced pilsener and is a good representation of the style without being an amazing example. Still is quite enjoyable!

330 ml bottle bought at YATA in MOKO, Mong Kok.

Clear light golden colour; Half finger head with soapy white foam which fades in 30 seconds; Good sticky lacing with active, very slight carbonation; Fairly pungent and sweet aroma of lager malt, with honey, yellow fruits, strong floral, strong sugar, spices, bread, light lemon and grass; Close to medium sweet taste of Lager malt, with nuts, strong floral, fair sugar, spices, earth, bread, strong lemon, mid to strong bitter hops and strong grass; Mid to light body. Fairly slick palate; Mouth Feel: Good Lager maltyness in a slightly thin but slick background. Some lingering nuttiness but otherwise strong floral and sweet malty all the way, with spice, bread and strong lemon to round. Fairly good!... Hoppiness is yellow fruits, strong floral, spices, light lemon and grass in nose, same in taste but stronger and with earth; Bitterness is strong for a lasting, Close to high astringent bitter-sweet malty finish; Quite dry after taste. Nutty lemony and strong bitter to mouth.

Comments: Try as it might, this one’s attempt to be a serious strong Pilsener is somewhat muddled by its nutty taste and strawy but strong hoppiness. In othe word it’s not clean and crisp enough to be a top German-style Pilsener. Still drinkable.

Clear yellow with creamy thin head. Mild aroma of lemon hops and biscuit malts. Very clean malt taste, hoppy aftertaste.

Keg - Opera Bar, Sydney. Quite liked this. Clear, effervescent yellow with a small but lasting white head leaving a fairly uniform lace. Aromas of citrus, grass, citrus pith and peel, and biscuity pale malts. Light to medium body, medium to full carbonation and a moderate intensity grassy, pithy hop bitterness to finish. Nice.

Bottle. Pale golden color, white head. Aroma resembling california common rather then pilsner. Drinkable though.

colui72 (1101) - HONG KONG - NOV 2, 2016
Golden, soapy head and aroma of grass and bread, with that usual pungent lager smell. Taste of a... pilsener. Malty and grassy, this type of hops don’t add much to flavour. Expected much better.

Tezminator (299) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 25, 2016
Weak aroma of grass. Taste subtle grass and some mild citrus notes. Slightly bitter finish. It’s okay.

Tap. Clear, golden, frothy, white foam, lightly bitter, light sweetness, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, & abrupt finish.
