COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Acorn is a symbol of life and potential. From this small seed comes a majestic tree. The Aecern was aged in our new, 930-gallon white oak foeder that is the centerpiece of our barrel aging program. A portion of this beer will be left in the foeder as the "seed" for our next batch of foeder-aged beer, a sour red ale. Only time will tell how the flavors of this beer will progress with age. We recommend storing some bottles at cellar temperature and trying them in the years to come!

375 ml bottle in a trade with JStax! Bottled on 2/16/16. Appearance is a murky brown with small bubbly head in a chalice. Aroma is oak, nuts, yeast, and Bretty yeast.

the flavor is a direct reflection of the aroma, very nutty and woods with a light trace of funk in the finish. Body is medium with a lot of lingering astringent oak in the backend. Overall, earthy and interesting.

750 ml bottle shared at Todd’s. Muddy brown in color with some cherry notes and a little brett. No caramel as I would expect form an old ale.

RBSG2016 grand tasting. So, had some trouble finding this because I didn’t include ’the’. Sweet candy nose thanks to JStax. Darker yuengy look about it. No co2. Interesting sweeter brew experience that separates it from the rest. Astringent attribute builds near the middle and increases in dB near the end. Thanks STAX for this beer tasting experience!

3.7
DuffMan (10733) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 27, 2016
RBSG 2016, Grand Tasting. Bottle. Medium copper hue. Aroma is distinct, but hard to pin down, quite unique. Cherries perhaps, but not really. Pecans? Very nice sweet nutty malt, dark honey. Interesting and tasty.
