On keg in King & Co. This was a light chestnut brown beer with an off white head. Nose was nutty, citrous, caramel, fruity, grassy. Taste had rather a lot going on. Toasty grains and malt, caramel, nutty but with some citrous, fruit, slight tartness, hay and grassy, earthy hops. Not quite all working smoothly together, but perfectly drinkable. Keg at The Rake, London. It pours a clean amber red color with no head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramely, piney and citrousy. Taste is medium bitter and lightly sweet, with notes of caramel, malt, grains, pine needles, citrus peel. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, unexciting and quite bland olliejobbins (1578) - Dorking, Surrey, ENGLAND - DEC 24, 2014

Keg at Draft House. Dark orange or light brown, slightly hazy, dense white head, light lacing. Aroma is liquorice, bock lager, syrupy, some nut. Body is medium, a bit foamy, low-ish carbonation. Taste is toffee, chestnut, honey. It’s a bit like a bock lager or a Belgian strong ale in flavour. Very interesting stuff. jtclockwork (17070) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 21, 2013
Bottle thanks to Colin. Pours dark brown with off white head. Nose and taste of toasted chestnut, smoked malt, smoked caramel, light pit fruit and toffee malt. Medium body. foolberry (56) - New Malden, Surrey, ENGLAND - NOV 21, 2012
Pours attractive, with a head that holds up well, but not much carbonation. Aroma is overwhelming chestnuts which is a bit disconcerting, very sweet, and then some yeastiness. Taste - smooth and rich. Lovely bitter finish. But something missing in the middle - not enough fizz? Overall, pretty easy drinking - no complaints about that though. Not sure if the chestnuts are a good addition. madmitch76 (25286) - , Essex, ENGLAND - NOV 10, 2012
