COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The clean, dry lagers of Vienna provide inspiration for our Big Bark Amber Lager. European malted barley lends it a soft body with a depth of malty richness and aroma. Small additions of noble hops gently balance characteristics of the malt. Cold fermentation and conditioning assure a beer with a clean finish, showcasing the interplay of the malt and hops. A beer of fine malt character and subtle hop nuance, it is accessible, smooth, and satisfying.

Very average all-around. Medium amber with a medium head. Malt and grain aroma, fading taste.

Tap at Flying Saucer. Nothing to get excited about. Did have some malty aroma, but the taste was flat.

Foggy amber color, with very thin white head. Aroma is somewhat bland. Has a hint of crystal and two row malts, and the taste is slightly watery with light malt content. It was a bit plain, but what do you expect from the style.

Sweet oak aroma some orange zest, and smoked malts. Pours a dark orange/amber brown, thin soapy head. Oak, pine, tiny bit of hickory and toasted malts in the finish. Palate is smooth but a bit bland in the finish. Meh.

(draft @ Alamo Drafthouse Ritz, Austin, TX): Pours a dark brown reddish body, some white head. Malty aromy, some dustiness, some fruitiness, not a strong aroma. Nutty, dusty, light fruit taste. Some graininess.

Draft pour at Backspin in Austin. Pours golden amber with a soapy white head that fades to a collar with webby lacing. Aroma is muted- malt, bread, not much more. Flavor is clean and refreshing, with some maltiness and a crisp finish. Light mouthfeel and mild palate. Enjoyable and easy to drink but isn't impressive.

tap at a bar in downtown Austin-well, after having their pilsner, this one falls very short. pretty boring for an amber-weak body with some spicy german hops. thin malts. not very solid

Draught at Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, Houston, Texas.
Fine head, clear light amber body. Sweet brown sugary aroma. Sweet caramelly and brown sugary flavor. OK, but ordinary.

Had on tap at the Ginger Man in Austin, Tx. No apparent aroma, medium copper color with a thin light off white head. Has a little bit of brief nuttiness, butnot much else going on here. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Compared to others I have had from Live Oak - it appears that they just phoned this one in.

A simple session type of "mass appeal" that left me with nothing but want. Want for maltier richness, want for a lasting head, want for something in my next mug.
