Very good beer I thought. Nice flavor but could have used a little more kick. llcooldave (1217) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - OCT 7, 2008
Cloudy brown honey color with a weak head. Awesome piney hops aroma with toasted malt notes. Finishes clean with lingering pleasing bitterness. In short, a solid brew. graham515 (537) - Houston, Texas, USA - FEB 10, 2007
On draught- Pours a deep amber with about an inch of white head on top. Has a fruity aroma and the taste is malty with a perfect hop taste to join it. Smooth mouth feel, great beer! redgold07 (308) - Irving, Texas, USA - NOV 26, 2007
Very complex flavors going on here. Quite malty with some sweetness coming through from that, but also tastes a bit like port. There is definitely a fruit wine taste as well. Very enjoyable and original.

Rarely do American brewers devise ways to develop lager styles. Alog w/their pilz, this has got to be the best lager I have tasted from the U.S. Draught. Orange & plum aroma. Deep amber pour. Slight malty sweetness, with complex flavor patterns (apricot, almond, pie crust) & great hops balance. Really worth drinking more!

Most recently had this one on tap at Gingerman, but have had this one from kegs in the back yard as well. Pours a dark amber with 1/4 inch of off white head. I love the deep medium dark color of this beer. The aroma is of woody malt and slightly citrus hops. The flavors are very clean and crisp, with layers of oak, citrus, smoke and dark fruits all easily discernable. The hops are well balanced in this brew but I’ve had a few in the past with a sour/astringent hop after taste. lownote (585) - Austin, Alabama, USA - MAR 18, 2017
Was not planning to love this, but it’s nice. Nutty and caramel aroma. Nice color. Light bodied and easily drinkable. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - OCT 27, 2010
On tap at the Addison Flying Saucer.
The beer pours an amber color with a white head. The aroma is very nice. I get quite a bit of toffee, but I also get some bread and a little bit of grape. The flavor is more of the same, with a lot of toffee and bready malt as well as a little bit of pine and grass from the hops. I also get a little bit of grape in the flavor as well. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. theisti (4126) - Kansas, USA - MAR 8, 2013
~12 oz draft at the Craft and Growler in Dallas, Texas. The pour is a clear amber with a small egg white head. The aroma is faint, what is there is malt, cracker, and straw. Clean, just muted nose. The taste is big cracker malt, mineral earth, straw, and finishes with hay. The palate is light to medium bodied, soft natural carbonation, and an earthy straw herbal finish. Clean and tasty. Pint on tap. Light honey color, good lacing, head bubbles down to a collar. Nice aroma, malty goodness. Taste is very good for the style, light, and drinkable. It probably won’t win many awards, but it’s a consistent, sessionable vienna lager with a lot of character.
