Half pint at Ginger Man in Austin. A mid brown pour with a short but creamy head. It left nice lacing. A malty nose translated to the flavor. A bit of fruit and I tasted rye grains. Nice. rougeau13 (3032) - Richmond, Texas, USA - APR 25, 2012
Tap at Hay Merchant. Clear brown with a decent beige head. Nice floral hop character in this one, it’s like a dark pilsener. Pretty light bodied. Nice vienna. 3fourths (9347) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 5, 2013
draft. filtered amber body, small off-white head. cookie dough maris otter malt nose with touches of dough / yeast and little apparent hop aroma. medium bodied and sweet with medium-low smooth and creamy carbonation. decent malt base here, very smooth and creamy texture-wise; low hop bitterness; medium sweet malt comes off as very generic other than faint hints of baked biscuit and bread and dough from the maris. mostly clean and seems pretty solid on first pass: good texture, not too sweet, focused malt presentation and a clean profile throughout. valpoaj (744) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - JAN 13, 2013
Tap - poured reddish brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma is mostly malty, hint of dark fruit, floral notes, slightly yeasty. Flavor is basic, but enjoyable with sweet malt the name of the game - hint of dark fruit here as well. Palate is medium bodied. Unremarkable, but not offensive in the least. ttoadee (1492) - Austin, Texas, USA - OCT 11, 2015
Amber pour, faint head. Nose is caramelized malt. Bittersweet. Middle is medium bodied roasted malt, hint wood. Finish is dry malt.

Great amber color with an lasting white creamy head. Aromas were sweet and malty with hints of oak. Initial and finishing flavour was slightly sweet. Palate was medium and slightly creamy texture. Overall a great, refreshing beer to have with lunch or dinner. Maverick34 (3239) - New York, USA - DEC 29, 2008
Draft @ flying saucer H-town. Was called a Vienna but tasted a lot more aleish. Poured an orange. Bit of head. Some malts and a fairly strong hops finish. OK. SphinxTX (2875) - Mata Gorda, Texas, USA - MAR 30, 2010
On tap at The Ginger Man in Dallas. Pours a clear amber with off-white head. Aroma of spice, light nut, a bit of caramel malt. Flavor is much the same. Mouth feel is light-medium body with high carbonation. Overall, a very enjoyable beer! troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - OCT 8, 2010
[Tap] Pours a light brown color with a quickly receding white head. Aroma of caramel and some earth. Toffee in the taste, with toasted hazelnut, caramel and sweet breads. Average mouthfeel and palate. Well balanced. There are no big surprises here, but this is still another well made beer from Live Oak.
