COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With about 6.0% ABV, this one will surely warm the ol’ gullet during a cold central Texas winter - both days! Our India Pale Ale (IPA) is light in color and strong in hop character. Dry hopping with Cascade hops, gives this winter favorite a delicious citrus note reminiscent of a Texas Ruby Red. Yes, it’s warming but you don’t need to be huddled around the furnace to enjoy this one! IPA fans really love this ale during a beautiful Texas winter on the porch or indoors. Available December - April.

Hazy light amber color. Poor aroma. Better the flavor, but nothing exceptional, with a lot of caramel, and the strong hopping is of reasonable quality.

On tap at Yard House Houston. A clear one, dark golden in color and with a finger thick, dense, off-white head. Some curtains. Mostly hoppy aroma, like dipping your nose into a bag of citrusy American hops. Some pale wort too. It’s almost full bodied, quite dry, and with a nice carbonation level. Bitter, hoppy flavor with some malty notes in the back. Lasting bitter finish. A pretty pleasant one, although tasting too much like wort, excluding the sweetness. 131112

On tap at Flying Saucer. Has a cloudy amber color with a thick off white head. The aroma is very hoppy with light citrus. The taste is a sweet hops and very easy to drink. I enjoyed this IPA from Live Oak.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2007 On draught at Flying Saucer in Houston. The beer is a clear bright gold color with a medium and frothy white head that lasts awhile. Sticky patches of lacing. Hoppy, citrusy aroma. Medium body with a bitter hoppy character. Notes of sweetness become increasingly prevalent though. Touches of malt and citrus show up too. This finish is dry and bitter hops with a touch of sweet malt aftertaste. Although the beer does not stand out in a sea of decent IPAs, it is solidly above average all around.

Draught at the Ginger Man, Austin, TX. Clear deep golden colour with a small white head. Sweetish exotic fruits, cookies, malt and mild bitterness in the aroma. The flavour is more bitter hoppy with pine and fruity notes. Caramel sweetness and malt in there too. Pretty decent IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Gingerman, Dallas. Clear medium yellow color. Fluffy small bubbled white head. Incredibly sweet bubble gum and sugar hope nose, and a similar flavor. Probably the sweetest IPA I’ve ever had. Very bright pineapple and lemon flavor, similar to Dreadnaught. Sweet candy sugar and citrus/bubble gum hop attack. A little gritty and leafy as well. Light and crisp on the palate. Very tasty but too sweet to drink regularly.

At the Ginger Man in Austin. Nice hops. Not overwhelming and not West Coast style, but a nice IPA nevertheless. Much better than I would have expected.
