COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our new winter seasonal, Primus (pronounced, "pre moose"), is a dark, rich German-style Weizen beer (beer made with wheat malt) fermented with a very particular strain of brewers yeast that gives this beer its unique spicy and fruity character. The unfiltered beer has the characteristic clove and banana flavors familiar to HefeWeizen drinkers but with a darker and richer roasty malt character that is typical of some German-style Bock beers. Available November - January

On tap at Flying Saucer in San Antonio. Aroma is banana, wheat bread and clove. Taste is very similar to a Belgian. Actually, it tastes like a cross between a Belgian and a dopplebock. Yum! Watch out...it will sneak up on you as it doesnt taste AT ALL like its 8% ABV! VERY easy to drink and very dangerous!

Wohoo. Excited to try this at gourmands in austin. Fresh keg. Smells like bananas and cloves. Solid fruity aroma. Dark and cloudy. Bach and hefe colored. Frothy head. Thick body and flavor that reminds me of a double. Sweet.

I'm drinking this great beer in a great bar. I would rather it not be so heavy, but the rich aroma and wheat/alcohol flavor are quite lovely.

Pours a brown color with off-white head. Spice, nutmeg and cinnamon, some darker fruits on the nose; follows onto the palate. Some clove and banana notes on the finish.

Tap at Craft and Growler - I really like their hefe, and this didnt disappoint, either - creamy texture, full in the mouth - quite dry for the strength, with flavors of nutty malt, white pepper, clove, nutmeg - some sweetness arrives late, a bit live brown sugar - finish of tart baked apples - really nice.

Brown bodied, smooth head. Soft roasted, sweaty clove y yeast, wheat creaminess, bubbly yet pleasant carbonation. Fairly sweet but drinkable so and enough roasted malt backup. Pretty nice and true to the style except perhaps a bit too murky but I dont mind that. Smooth drinkable autumn drinker. (On tap at The Liberty Tavern Austin)
