An easy drinking medium body lager, with just a tiny hint of roastiness and a noticeable but well-balanced hop presence thats not overly bitter. An opaque black lager that reveals deep ruby undertones in the light. Munich, Pilsner and Black Malt flavors play off the flowery, spicy notes of Noble German hops. Cold fermentation and conditioning with Bavarian lager yeast assures a clean draught with a dry finish.

Enjoyed on tap while waiting for wife to visit shitty shops in Gruene, TX. Color of cola, thin whispy off white head. Roasted nut aroma, pecan. Thin, pretty one dimensional on the tongue but quite refreshing on a mild Texas day, coffee, toffee, caramel. Not bad.

Roasted barley, some tobacco, a bit of toffee, and earthy hops in the nose. Medium mouthfeel with a medium-to-thin body and moderate carbonation. The taste is roasty, earthy bitter with caramely sweetness. I liked it.

On tap at Uncle Billy Austin. Roast and faint noble hop aroma. Dark brown with good white head that lingers. Tastes of roast malt, toffee, licorice, chocolate malt. Medium palate, correct for style. Dry finish. Good Schwartz Bier for the US.

Pours dark brown to black with a small head. Smell is smoky roast and yeasty. Toasty, roasty malt with an almost smokiness to it. Didnt have very good carbonation as it was poured on tap to a pitcher, and then my glass. Didnt care for this one and Id stick to their Pilz or Hefeweizen if given the chance.

Sample at Hay Merchant. Opaque brown-black pour with a medium light tan head that recedes steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt and hops. Light-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of bready malt, chocolate and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a roasted malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tap flight at Flying Saucer San Antonio. Brown pour that you can see through. No detectable nose. Flavor is roasty with a sweet syrupy characteristic and bitter finish in the back of the mouth while remaining sweet in the to the in front. Impressive slippery and creamy mouthfeel. Surprise.
