COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An easy drinking medium body lager, with just a tiny hint of roastiness and a noticeable but well-balanced hop presence that’s not overly bitter. An opaque black lager that reveals deep ruby undertones in the light. Munich, Pilsner and Black Malt flavors play off the flowery, spicy notes of Noble German hops. Cold fermentation and conditioning with Bavarian lager yeast assures a clean draught with a dry finish.

Sample at Hay Merchant. Opaque brown-black pour with a medium light tan head that recedes steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt and hops. Light-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of bready malt, chocolate and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a roasted malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

2/25/12. On tap during RBWG 2012. Clearish black pour with a small tan head. The aroma is a bit plain - somewhat watery but with a hint of roast and butter. Light toast in the flavor with definite butter. Diacetyl? Eh.

On tap at Vickery Park in Plano. The beer pours a black color with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of roasted malt, as well as some very light smoke and some light chocolate. The flavor is similar. I get a lot of roasted malt, as well as some chalky, powdery chocolate and some grain notes. The beer is fairly dry. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
