An easy drinking medium body lager, with just a tiny hint of roastiness and a noticeable but well-balanced hop presence that’s not overly bitter. An opaque black lager that reveals deep ruby undertones in the light. Munich, Pilsner and Black Malt flavors play off the flowery, spicy notes of Noble German hops. Cold fermentation and conditioning with Bavarian lager yeast assures a clean draught with a dry finish.

Draft. The look is brownish in color, light tan head, and has red tinges. The smell is burnt, malt, cereal, hay, dry toast, ok. The taste is malt, slightly burnt toast, dry, dust, and ok.

A dark brown medium bodied beer with a frothy tan head. Clean minerally aroma. Flavor is mostly toasty malt with a good hop balance. Backend is slightly creamy. Good on a spring day for sure.

Black pour with tan head. Light and refreshing body with with a nice, smoky roast finish. Think I’ll have another.

Clearish black with an average beige head. Aroma of not much but some roast. Mild taste of roast and ash. Thin. Nothing here. Didn’t even finish the pint.

On tap. Pours dark brown/black with tan head. Aroma of light dark grain, faint hint of chocolate with hints of earthy hop. Flavor is much the same but unlike the description, the hop stands out more then other schwartzbiers I have had, but just a tad. Light-medium body with medium-high carbonation. Overall, I would have a second one!

Pours dark brown to black with a small head. Smell is smoky roast and yeasty. Toasty, roasty malt with an almost smokiness to it. Didn’t have very good carbonation as it was poured on tap to a pitcher, and then my glass. Didn’t care for this one and I’d stick to their Pilz or Hefeweizen if given the chance.

Enjoyed on tap while waiting for wife to visit shitty shops in Gruene, TX. Color of cola, thin whispy off white head. Roasted nut aroma, pecan. Thin, pretty one dimensional on the tongue but quite refreshing on a mild Texas day, coffee, toffee, caramel. Not bad.

On tap at Oak St. Draft House. Pours black with an off white head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, and a little spice. Taste is very similar with some smoke. Creamy texture. Pretty good.
