Pint glass at DH- served a transparent light burnt orange color, creamy white 1mm white head was present with a firm ring around the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel, and a hint of smoke. Hits the mouth with a light medium body, malt tastes like less caramel was added than their typical oktoberfest bier, smoke is very present in the middle, finish is tangy from smoke and the hardwood feel. Clear amber with a whitish head and moderate lacing. Aroma of caramel and toasty malt with light smoke. More smoke in the taste atop a mild malty sweetness. Light-medium bodied. Not bad. lownote (585) - Austin, Alabama, USA - NOV 25, 2015
Light malty aroma. Clear copper, white head. Taste is sweet at first and then the smoke takes over, lingering for a while. Can’t figure out how to rate that. At first it’s great but it gets to be too much. I would drink again but it could be less smoky. kidmartinek (5007) - austin, Texas, USA - OCT 26, 2012
Holy shit, this is a smoky beer. Reminds me of beef for some reason. Maybe from eating enough, not too much, brisket. For all you techies out there its a reddish tinted amber lager, clean, with no head. The finish is just like the flavor, as I’ve already described.
