3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cask @ The Euston Tap. The pour’s deep gold with a creamy white head. The nose is dried grass, honeyed bread, toast and red apples. Sweet, inviting aromas. The taste is of a traditional bitter with modest grassy hoppiness, hints of citrus fruits on the finish. Sweet grains, nice soft malty body. Crisp, clean, harmonious flavors. This gets pretty much everything right. Overall, this is an unbelievably good bitter. One of the best I’ve had in the style.

Cask at Dean Swift. Pale malt and earthy hops, fairly standard bitter with a really hint of citrus in the finish. Enjoyable. jmgreenuk (10386) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - NOV 1, 2013
Cask at the Anchor, Birmingham. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeast malt with a little resin. The flavour is surprisingly weak sour with a medium bodied palate. I’m sure this beer is not how it should be be it’s rated as found. From cask, half, at Euston Tap. Tiny but lasting white layer at the top of a clear, copper coloured body. Good amount of lacing. Citrus fruits to the nose. Fresh fruity taste including peaches and lemon. Fruit bitter endnotes. A little bit mealy, otherwise clean in the mouth. Ordinary and ok (London, 27.11.2012).
