Cask @ Stamps Too, Waterloo, Liverpool as Liverpool Organic Capt. Noel G Chavasse Empire Ale. Copper-ruby with a small creamy head. Crisp with a palatable mix of dark and sweet malts. AshtonMcCobb (6897) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 19, 2017
Bottle from the Homebrew Bottle Shop, Oxton.
Appearance - dark ruby to brown. Nice fawn lacy head.
Nose - strawberry, light marzipan, toffee and praline.
Taste - nuts, marshmallow, toffee, honeycomb and chocolate.
Palate - rich medium to full bodied. Rich middle section that's a touch crunchy. The finish is still rich but it tapers fairly well.
Overall - wow, rich and complex. theprof (1236) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2016
Cask. Pours reddish brown with no head to speak of. Aroma biscuity with some dark fruit. Tastes better than it look although there’s a flat end of barrel air to it. But the malts are toasted and the plum notes are modestly there.
Litt lacing. God maltaroma. Smaken er malt. Litt i søtligste laget. Bra fylde. Rune (13506) - Tromsø, NORWAY - NOV 30, 2013
500ml bottle, 5.5 % abv, bought from the bottle bar at NWAF 2013 in Manchester. Good looking with a remaining off-white head to a clear, dark amber coloured body. Fair amount of glass lacing. Earth malty nose, mid-sweet. Malt driven flavours of caramel and earth with resinous bitterness to the ending. Medium bodied. Smooth and nice (shared with Finn, Tromsø 27.11.2013).

Cask (handpump) @ Grapes, 60 Roscoe Street, Liverpool, Merseyside, England L1 9DW.
Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dusty, coffee, tea. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.
Two hand pulled pints taken at the excellent ’Bridge End Inn’ near Wrexham in April 1012.
Fantastic deep ruby red in colour with a full head of cream foam on top.
Caramel and toffee in both the nose and taste, malty biscuits too. Semi-sweet in all aspects, but a bitter hint is always just below the surface.
Easy to drink: even at 5.3% ABV. A fine brew.

Caramel, long dry bitter finish.spoilt as was served straight from cask with zero head, looked like a flat Pepsi! Tasted fine for it though with depth of flavour. culchiem (4153) - Berlin, GERMANY - MAR 27, 2012
