Cask (handpump) @ NWAF 2012, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.
Light unclear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy - fizzy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caraeml, moderate hoppy, flowers, light perfume. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.
On cask. Rich clear dark amber with a white tight head. Malty perfumed smells, not giving much away. In mouth, pear, peach, a fleeting alcohol taste, smooth malts giving a whisky impression. Crackingly complex and misleadingly light. Palate hangs around with lovely warming maltings. merseybrew (103) - Merseyside, ENGLAND - JAN 12, 2012
