overall, an enjoyable ipa, imo, wasn’t tremendously hoppy but satisfying nonetheless. only available on draft but reportedly will be one of the first to be canned soon.
Super Bowl Sunday 2012, Dexters. Unfiltered orange-tan, nice foamy white head, steady. Could have used a little more malt depth, straight forward golden malt tones and an orange peel citrus hoppiness. Not exactly mind blowing, sort of unrefined, but still enjoyable. Soapy finish, dry, approaching medicinal. rumproasts (6035) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - AUG 18, 2012
amber with minimal head. on cask, so the carbonation is subdued. substantial fruit and malt, and somewhat light on the hops for an IPA. gorditoabd (637) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 12, 2012
Sample at the livery. Cloudy light foam pour. Nose is faint and weak of cinnamon and malt. Taste is weak and lacks both punch and carbonation. Mouthfeel is just a thud on the tongue. Funky semi bitter finish reveals that some hops were actually used in this beer, but it’s too little too late. Not a great effort. Sampler at the Livery. Body is a slightly hazy orange with very light aromas of grain and soap. Flavor is also a little on the light and directionless side. Some non-descript hops and some caramel/bready malt are about all I’m getting. esjaygee (3906) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 20, 2012
On tap at Uncle Mike’s. Cloudy apricot with a frothy lacy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, tropical fruit, floral and woodsy hops. Taste is floral and woodsy with grapefruit, mild resinous hops and finishes up semi-dry with a lasting bitterness.

Draft sample at MBGWF12. Poured hazy dark copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with fair lacing. Moderate citrus hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish of medium duration. This beer met my expectations.

On tap at Kalamazoo Beer Exchange last week. Listed at 7.5% ABV. It’s a Belgian-style IPA. Looked good in the glass, nice amber copper color with a thicker khaki head. Belgian spicy yeast and some piney hops on the nose. Taste was pretty bitter, but with some substantial sweetness to help back it up. Palate was fairly clean, not too heavy, and lots of bitterness on the finish. I wish I would have had more time to just relax and enjoy this one. Nice change of pace from the standard IPA style. Dogbrick (13751) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 14, 2012
Sample at Kalamazoo Beer Exchange. This brew pours a clear dark orange color with a medium white head that diminishes to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, malt and fruit. Medium body with a grassy hops character and notes of citrus and sweet malt. The finish is moderately bitter hops with a fruity aftertaste. Above average overall. madvike (3301) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 12, 2012
On tap at Dexter’s - Pours hazy amber with a nice foamy white head. Nose is Belgian yeast with a sweet malt backbone. Not much of a hop profile. Huh. Taste is grassy hops, fruity malt base, white pepper, and apricot. Honestly it felt more like a saison than a DIPA, and wasn’t at all what I expected. It was pleasant enough, but seemed pretty far out of style that it took me by surprise.
