22 oz hand bottleb by BB63 and shared by tjthresh @ a March ’08 tasting. Aroma is super boozy and reminiscent of calvados. Taste is boozy applejack, hot and harsh, and lacking of a good malt base. Maybe some age would have helped this out? Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - MAY 14, 2011
On tap at The Livery.
Pours a dark copper color with a very thin light tan head that disappears almost as quickly as the glass gets set down. Swirling will do nothing to bring it back ground the dead. The nose is odd--it smells like grainy sawdust that has been soaked in a strong alcohol solution. No real dark fruit character until it starts to really warm up when I get a bunch of really sweet grapes. The flavor is really bad--quite grainy and not nearly full enough in body. Pretty gross.
