Source: Tasting, Cellar Party
Appearance: hazy dark red, wispy beige head,
Aroma: sweet banana and chocolate aroma,
Flavor: rich chocolate flavor, nice banana character brings in some sweetness but is restrained by an earthy and light spicy character, light bitterness in the finish,
Overall: thanks to the brewer for sending this down with BBB63 to the Atlanta crew
Aroma: 8/10; Appearance: 6/10; Flavor: 7/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 13/20
Hand-bottle from a growler thanks to BBB63: Pours a transparent copper amber with ruby hues and a spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of semi-sweet biscuity dark German malts with some black pepper and bready yeast. Body starts lightly doughy and toasty malty sweet with some citrusy hops before a drier finish. An authentic and quite drinkable dunkel-weizen. BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - FEB 24, 2008
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2008 On da bus going to the MBG Winter Fest: Muddy brown with a minimal head and little lace. The aroma is highly phenolic and yeasty with notes of banana, clove, pepper, bubblegum, walnut, roasted malt, and a hint of herbal mint. The taste starts fruity and grassy over a layer of roasted malts. The middle displays wheat and darker roasted malts. Finished lightly spiced and even a touch smoky. The mouth feel is lively and refreshing, dry clean finish. A solid example of the style. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 6, 2008
In short: a standard but superior Dunkel Weizen with a fruit salad bonusheemer77 (5358) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - MAY 6, 2008
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Almost clear amber with a small long lasting beige head.
In long: Less ripe bananas than a usually get in Dunkel Weizens, this one did have some ripe bananas but also a lot of fruit salad. As usual for the style, clove was present in the nose taste but at an acceptable low level. This is a very good beer. Medium body. Carbonation is very lively, this is a very lively Livery beer.
On tap at the brewpub. The body was dark copper with an off white head. The aroma was caramel with some light iced tea. The taste was iced tea along with some caramel. A decent brew.

Thanks a million, BBB63, for the growler!
Appearance: Pours a clearish brown body topped by a small, wispy white head.
Smell: Immensely strong-scented with aroma jam-packed with malted wheat, bananas, and fresh-ground cloves.
Taste: Toasted wheat malt and banana juice with a heavy-handed dose of clove spiciness. A bit of light brown sugar. Faint bitterness. Tangy, spicy finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Lightly carbonated.
Drinkability: A very respectable dunkleweizen. unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - APR 3, 2008
growler from BBB63. Cloudy copper. Aroma of banana, spice. Flavors of fruit, but not much wheat. Thin mouthfeel. Light bodied. Headbanger (3999) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JAN 10, 2013
Sample at brewery 2/27/10 Pours a cloudy brown with a small tan head. Aroma of banana and clove. Taste a little sour, hops, and slight banana. Not may hefe characteristics. This medium bodied brew was not great. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - MAY 3, 2008
On tap at The Livery; probably the pourest of the beers that I had at this solid brewery in Benton Harbor. Found it to not be a great represenation of the style. Mouthfeel was a bit on the light side. As previous rater mentioned, not much of a wheat presence. SrSilliGose (3331) - pouring bus, New Brunswick, CANADA - MAY 8, 2009
