Bottle: The aroma consists of oranges, Belgian yeast, oak, vanilla, and vinous notes. It pours a cloudy brownish-orange with a small off-white head. The flavor starts with light-moderate orange and light Belgian yeastiness. The finish has light vinous notes, grapefruit, faint oak, vanilla, and finally a moderate tart citrus flavors. Medium bodied with lively carbonation, bordering on prickly.
Pours a hazy amber with a thin white head. Smells of pineapple and oaky. Tastes of caramel, citrus and on the dry side. xnoxhatex (1305) - Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA - JUN 16, 2009
Bottle thanks to BB63 at DLD ’09. Cloudy straw color with big bubbled, active white head. Aroma is hops, wine barrel, yeast, nice. Flavor is spicey, barrel flavor, nice bitterness, citrus, floral, a little sour. Medium body and syrupy. Really nice, BA IIPAs don’t always work but this time it’s right on. Thanks Mike! Bottle sampled at DLD ’09. Cloudy orange color with a medium off-white head. Orange citrus aroma with a bit of tartness. Malt flavor up front with some sourness in the middle and a hop finish. Typically not a fan of the Belgian IPA style, but didn’t mind this one at all.

Sampled during Dark Lord Day 09 and I believe shared by BBB63. Pours a semi-hazy copper amber colored brew with a slow dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of Belgian yeast, some citrus, vanilla, a hint of caramel and barnyard funk. Taste is medium to full bodied, flavors of yeast, citrus, caramel and golden grain malt, and a hint of orange. Finish is semi-sweet, some alcohol presence and a light fruity/yeast aftertaste. auerbrau (3206) - Ithaca, New York, USA - MAY 24, 2009
750mL Bottle. Thanks so much Sean! I’m very grateful to have this beer. Aroma gives a strong, lightly acidic brash Brett character. Very floral and orchid-like with some fresh warm cotton and a bit of dusty breeze. Nice and inviting. Pours a lightly hazed clearish orange-yellow, with a fast fading tall rocky head that came from a gushing bottle. Flavor is a bit peculiar. Sharp and somehow hot. A snappy bit of hop oils plays through a deeper and barrel-inflected malt sugar. Chewy and foamy, somehow. Hot. There’s a surprising amount of alcohol heat that pours through a bit of old hop character. Dusty finish. Overall, I actually enjoy this a good bit. It’s complex, if some of the flavors are unusual, and drinkable.bitbucket (2166) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - MAY 19, 2009
I drank deeper into the bottle and realized I love this beer. The combination of fresh dry hops with spicy brett is just great. I had been letting other ratings heavily impact me and that wasn’t fair. This beer is delicate and delightful. The hopping so grassy, fresh and bright. The Brett is spicy and leaves a beautiful kiss of cotton candy and passionfruit in the finish. The belgian yeast plays well with the wine barrel and the hops. All around a fantastic beer.
Pours cloudy copper. Peachy citrus and funk aroma. Medium body and light carbonation. Sweet vanilla nut and citrus taste. 3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 16, 2009
750ml. Cloudy turbid orange/brown. Some solvent in the nose. Vibrant and zesty oranges, brettanomyces and thick muddled citric acid. Naturally soft carbonation and frothy/thick body. egajdzis (6730) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 7, 2009
Poured a hazy amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of wild yeast, wine, grass, toast, citrus fruits, caramel malts, leather, and vanilla oak. Taste of citrus fruits, green apple, grassy hops, vanilla, wine, and a tart, wild finish. Graciously provided by Steve, and drank just before the fun started in the Dead parking lot at Allstate Arena.
