Tap. Funky citrus barley malt and light hay aroma. Hazy golden yellow color with small head. Basement, barley malt and moderately bitter dry grass flavor. Excellent. jeffwilliams11 (310) - hooterville, Michigan, USA - JUN 29, 2008
now this is my kind of pilsner. clean and hoppy, smooth, dry. brassy orange color with mid sized head. very easy drinking. ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - MAR 6, 2010
Herbal/floral hops in the nose with just a touch of cotton candy. Lightly sweet, light to moderately bitter taste with flowers, light citrus and chewy sugars. Medium body is soft with light carbonation. Well executed, delicious beer. BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - FEB 10, 2008
UPDATED: APR 28, 2008 On tap at Steve’s Birthday bash (this was actually my first beer of the afternoon): Clean golden hue with a small frothy head and spotty lace. The aroma is grassy, herbal, slightly resiny, apple and pineapple esters, and biscuity as well. The taste has a surprising sharp hoppy bite for the style with fruity undertones. Moderately acidic before a soft grain biscuit finish. The mouth feel is lively and crisp, refreshing and clean, well attenuated. This is a solid Pilsener and very sessionable indeed. gearbike (512) - West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA - JAN 2, 2011
Not sure I wanted a normal pilsner with so many good choices on tap but it is hard to resist a Livery brew since they are so hard to find. And a good decision it was because this is no normal pilsner. Pored a light copper with a big earthy aroma. A sharp crisp first taste but what sets this apart comes after. It has a funky sour sort of Farmhouse Ale taste. Very unique and drinkable.

On tap at Mich Brewer’s Fest. That is damn fine Bohemian Pilsner. I’m surprised that this is pure Saaz, the bitterness is a little more aggressive and soapy than I would expect. CanIHave4Beers (4184) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - AUG 2, 2010
Pours a hazy blonde with a good head and good lace. The aroma is bready with some good complimentary herbal and grassy hops. The flavor is a nice dry malty dominated beer with plenty of good herbal hop balance with just a perfect amount of bitterness. Quite good. Tmoney99 (14479) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 2, 2008
MBG Winter Fest 2008. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body. Medium to heavy bitter flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met with solid drinkable beer. kmweaver (3207) - Petaluma, California, USA - APR 28, 2008
Draft @ The Livery. Pours a hazy, golden-yellow color; white head with glistening, fine-bubbled lacing. Crisp citrus, resiny hops, and a touch of sugar in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: citrus, toasty grains, juicy hops and residual sweetness. A tasty, very sessionable pils; mostly dry (just a touch sweeter than Poor Freddy’s). Medium finish: toasty grains, mineral bitterness, and sugar. blackflag321 (689) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - AUG 1, 2012
Like many of the other raters, I found this atypical to the style. This was my first in a flight that included a belgian ale and I thought the bartender had mixed up the pour order. Fruity, spicy; lively, crisp; a very interesting pilsener. I was convinced to try it because of Ratebeerians’ ratings and I was not disappointed.
